    The Q

Hard to know ANYTHING about new configurations for the teams, but let's take a stab at picking the winners out of the Q this weekend anyway
    just for S & Gs:

    Bracket A
Leg-a-z has popped up in the rankings, but they will have to prove it because they hitched a ride on the rankings points of last year's U19 team. They weren't a Round of 16 team last year, they don't impress me. The group is pretty weak, competition-wise, and Leg-a-z might come away with it. The Georgia team should be the top competitor.

    Bracket B
If Davie kept their team intact, they should be the favorite here unless Strictly can man up and take it from them.

    Bracket C
What is the composition of the OCYS team? Is this top non-DA team? If so, should be a cake walk.

    Bracket D
If CES kept their team together, they should win easily.

    Bracket E
Cutler Ridge should be the favorite. The Georgia team is a high school team, at Jefferson Cup they played U19 in the second tier and finished 12th.

    Bracket F
Another really weak bracket, probably South Florida Elite will win.

Overall a really weak qualifier. Notable teams missing:
    FCF Prep
    WFF 99 Elite
    ACYS
    Clay
    Miramar United Red

That's HALF of the top ten by either ranking system.

Anyone have insight to expand on this? I won't even go beyond the group stage, maybe a recap Saturday.....

This is the OC "B" team I think, not the ENPL TEAM

So, South Orlando won the Disney Q in spectacular fashion. Didn't this age group year do that 2 years ago and crow about how they were the State Cup favorite and then we never heard from them again (and they were bounced in Round 1 of State Cup)?

          Disney Showcase

No OCYS teams in this age group?

Somebody has to start this off...

FSPL - Coral Springs jumps out to lead the standings with three solid wins. OCYS has yet to play a game for some reason. What happened to Miramar after such a strong showing at the end of last season??

WFF, ACYS and Clay are playing at a regional level after great finishes last year.

There are a significant number of teams from other age groups that have moved into the 99s. Are any of them going to compete? What the heck is CIMA??

Disney Q was supposed to only allow the finalists into the showcase and ended up letting half the state in...

WFF, ACYS & Clay are not playing at the regional level (it is moronic to do so at this age because no college scouts come to regional games-save your travel money for showcases). They are playing ENPL, which is a state-level league.

ACYS is in the USYS regional championships and Clay is playing in SRPL.

                  Top teams

So, we are a couple of weeks into the season, most teams have a handful of games under their belt.

In FSPL, it looks like Coral Estates is the team to beat. Leg-A-Z is highly ranked in Gotsoccer, but they just piggy backed on the points earned by the U19 team LAST year, even though maybe a third of this year's roster was on that team. Every game they play exposes how weak they really are and on youthsoccerrankings.us, they lose ranking points every time they kick off. Coral Springs United and GPS Orlando are positioned for contention if they knock off CES. OCYS Purple is not the team from last year-they have played one game and tied the Tampa Rangers. How good could they be?

In ENPL you would expect a battle between ACYS, Clay and WFF, but WFF beat both this weekend pretty decisively and are in the driver's seat. GPS West and Clearwater have posted some big wins on GD, but they have only played horrible teams. It remains to be seen how they compete against the heavy hitters. GPS West and Clearwater have to get by Clay and ACYS in November to even remain in contention by the end of February when they meet WFF.

The number of leagues has really spread the talent around. Only 3-4 teams in each league have a legitimate shot at taking the title, the rest of them are cannon fodder.

South Orlando did great in Disney Q, but what happened to them in West Pines Tourny.

WFF is a kickball team. Chargers are absolutely terrible.

Somewhat surprised by the lack of activity on this thread relative to last year. The guy who
Did such a entertaining job handicapping FSPL and some of the major seems to be gone.

What the heck happened to Miramar after their showing at Florida Cup and state Cup 5 months ago?? They are winless after 5 games in FSPL.

Brevard wining their group at the Disney Q was clearly a fluke after losing 5 straight in FSPL.

South Orlando is the other winner at the Q and bombs out an irrelevant West Pines tourney.

Seems like a lot of seniors are not to into the season this year.

What happened with wff? Did the 2 teams merge from the 2 counties? Heard Brandon lost 4-5 players to clw da.

No, the teams didn’t merge. The Eastlake team dissapated (most are at TBU ENPL team).

Brandon just beat ACYS 3-1 and Clay County 6-1 in ENPL, and look to be the favorite to win ENPL.

Didn't Brandon destroy that TBU team already this year?
