The whole lot needs to be pitched and start over. Arena was a poor choice of course, but now there's more upheaval and uncertainty. And he's only a portion of the bigger problems facing US soccer.

"All 18 of the players on the roster have registered at least one season in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy; all 18 players have spent time with an Academy team during the 2016-2017 season."

Here is the real problem. They are only scouting financially privileged DA players for our YNT. Soccer isn't built by bank accounts.

How long has DA been around? Players have to start very young. It's an 18 year process of learning and only the truly elite can get to the national team. The U.S.A. will have the talent pool.

It's been around since 2007. That's 10 years of failing...

Gulati was a banker before he obtained such a stunning knowledge of soccer. Go figure.

Iceland achieved much more in a similar timer period, maybe 15 years . We will not be Iceland in 5 years.
