Very poor leadership and decision making by the league, why did they not take a cue from ECNL and cancel the showcase??? Could have saved everyone a lot of trouble, time and money (in the middle of a pandemic no less).

Can you imagine sitting in an airport in TX right now after spending $2,500 for that s**t show with your Covid mask on and the runways iced over? I’d have my kid at ecnl/ecnl-r team practice by tomorrow.

The GA is a JV league at best. Adding poor poor clubs just to add clubs. They should look to add better clubs or not add at all. Let the better clubs play each other 3/4 times rather than traveling all over the region to beat pathetic clubs 4-0.

Real life examples like this weekend are not great for GAL. You’re being kind to call them JV. By the way 4-0 shorelines are close by some standards, FCV has been destroying some teams and posted 11-0 win at 04 and 14-0 win at 06. That’s why they can’t wait to get out ASAP. Does not do anyone any good to have these blowouts.

I can see FCV getting into the ECNL but not Tophat. Too many teams in Atlanta.

Some of their teams had over -100 goal differential. Beyond bad. Desperation move by GAL and the club.

EU tried this once and failed, miserably. I can't imagine how the club will spin it this time

On the bright side, GA is even weaker than GDA was, so expect closer scores now. Thankfully, the bar has been lowered substantially to allow even lesser clubs to qualify and compete better.

imagine a visiting team driving 6-8 hours to play a 10-0 game as a parent I would not be happy with that.
