Your take is fair but I would only use it as bulletin board material. You gotta be in it to win it. You seem like someone who might be near their finish line.

All pay to play teams (even those calling themselves "academies" are no big deal to anyone serious about soccer). Kids on teams like NYCFC may be a touch better, but are still mediocre compared to top international competition. Most kids hopefully are realistic enough to know that, and can nonetheless have fun playing soccer for recreation while going to school and trying to prepare for life in the real world. Those with other delusions are pathetic. The best they can hope for is to play Division I soccer at some soccer school with 5th rate academics, after which they will probably wind up selling used cars or insurance for a paltry $100k a year.

2009 Auburndale had two wins and a tie at EMSC MLK tournament playing up as 2008’s Beating 2008 EMSC ecnl 4-1, beating North Stars 2008 8-0, tying DOXA 2009 1-1

Congratulations to Auburndale but the tournament was no good

              1) DOXA SC ACADEMY 2009 3 2 0 1 11 1 10 7
              2) AUBURNDALE SC 2009 3 2 0 1 10 2 8 7
              3) NORTH STAR 3 1 2 0 5 10 -5 3
              4) EMSC BU13 2008 MILAN 3 0 3 0 1 14 -13 0

They played the second bracket and came in second. Very weak competition considering they gave up only two goals. The only match of consequence was a 1-1 draw against DOXA.

If you're going to post something and use Rankings to support your argument please do not use GOT SOCCER.

When your team is Ranked #1 here then you have a better argument.

The point is that if a kid is 11 or 12 years old and has not been recruited as a pro prospect, he is mediocre in the overall scheme of things and has no standing to put down other people playing on perfectly good recreational teams. Just like the moron saying that competition at a particular tournament was not "strong" or "good." Well, if your kid was playing at a tournament and was not playing against the European academies for Barcelona, Juventes, and Real Madrid his victories mean little because the competition was not very strong.

Why are you on this thread? The team is looking to add players to a strong team for when they go 11v11. No one is expecting pro contracts or to be scouted by European clubs.

So untrue. Look at the Leeds United roster.

The fact of the matter is all teams that go from 9v9 to full-field are going to need players. Most teams need 3+ players just to keep the roster comfortable to manage. Unfortunately, as the better players move up the pyramid those base teams start to go away.
