Rumor has it that MLS will be 2nd tier.

Does it matter what tier if it's just them

Absurd - then who is the first? If any of this is true, no way MLS would stand to be #2. Also, splitting into three tiers will make travel impossible for everyone without a massive expansion, which as someone said is contrary to the mission. There are already too many clubs to players that shouldn't be in the system - unless all USSF cares about is market share, which seems to be the case,

Look at the records of some of the MLS teams vs. non-MLS. It's especially true locally. If the Revs need to travel to Dallas to get smacked around then no one will sign up.

But that travel would become the norm for all if it's divided into three brackets. Even if they added 30 new clubs (from where I don't know because there's some that should be ejected now), it wouldn't make much of a dent by the time it's split across three brackets and geographically. It would also require a fair and consistent system of promotion and relegation. This is USSF we're talking about, an organization not all trust these days. And would MLS clubs be willing to foot the bills for training players in the C bracket? How many parents want to pay to play in the C bracket? Adding slews of clubs take away the elite nature of the program as well. If you're not playing the top clubs in the country what's so special about it?

Until the Revs have a Residential Academy they're really irrelevant. My son played for the Revs and I saw first hand everytime they played residential teams. Overmatched every time. Kraft will never spend the money that needs to be spent on the whole Revolution Organization. Just won't happen. So until then, the Revs are an Academy team that has the best facility and free, that is it. Some good coaches and some not good at all. You are getting great competition at Academy level regardless of the club. It's a good fit for some kids and the ones it is not they figure that out real quick.

C bracket will allow high school or prep school ball

Are they doing the same thing on the girls side? Breakers gave out a lot of waivers, and those kids aren’t going to want to play on a C team.

                            Can't have it all

Haven't heard if it will impact both boys and girls

It will be a three tier system with limited crossovers between the tiers. Tier one most likely all MLS. Rumor is that the third tier will allow high school which seems to be a defensive move against ECNL
If this isn’t just TS rumor, does anyone know when anything of substance will be released in terms of how it will work, club changes, etc?

Not a TS rumor but very little specific information has been released

This has been DAPs MO lately as witnessed by the initiative that allows small players to play down. Still waiting for documentation on that
