Are you sure that isn't just the EDP Futures Festivals?

I don't know about the festivals but EDP definitely announced last winter that u9 and u10 scores and standings won't be published anymore.

Festivals are not league matches - they are 4v4 scrimmages with no goalie and never had scores kept. Some U8 teams play in a u8 flight in the EDP Futures league.
EDP says they will not post standings or results for u9 and u10 Futures on its website.

If you are making "informed decisions" regarding teams based upon scores/records, then you are doing it wrong.

You are doing it wrong if you fall for the fancy $600 uniform package, subpar 3xper week 1.5 hr practice and your child ends up the team's C team and have no idea how bad they are because the results are hidden lol oh yeah and you are still paying $3000 to play on the lower bracket of competition...

Total deflection. You are commenting on what some people do, but not what people should be looking at. Being in a township or club team doesn't make a situation better or worse at this age just because, but also focusing on win-loss records are idiotic. If you want to find out about another team, then have your kid attend a few practices, talk to the coach and the parents, see what league the team plays in and who against, etc. Wins and losses (and gotsoccer ranks) are what parents and daddy coaches who know nothing about soccer obsess about.

By all means - seek out the angry parent/you're wrong thread. There are plenty here.

The best posts on this thread are from folks that have been following and/or have children playing in the 2011 age group.

This is what this is for-conjecture https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/conjecture (see first post-just for fun).

Let's hope the angry people find other threads. It will be interesting to see how the 2011 Fall season plays out.

Also, CSA Bergen Pre Academy (thread ranked #1) is the first 2011 NJ team listed on YSR.

If someone wants to sit around and obsess about how teams are ranked and use win-loss records to decide where their kid plays, then enjoy. I guess it's better than blindly paying 3k for a three-letter club. Then again, maybe win-loss records don't tell the entire story. Maybe certain coaches and clubs care more about the development of the kids and their soccer IQ then beating teams for the sake of winning. I'm not saying the c team for whomever is better than being on a township team, but maybe saying a team is bad because they lost to some other team isn't understanding the entire situation.

Nobody said making an informed decision should be based solely on EDP Futures results or gotsoccer rankings. It is, however, another piece of the puzzle. If the team is not playing competitively in games, the team may not develop. If the team is crushing everyone, they may not develop. If they're being slaughtered, week in and week out, they may not develop. More information makes for better decisions, you dolt.

That's literally the language that was previously used. I agree, more information the better, but that's not the argument that was stated. I think the scores should be posted just because, but unfortunately a lot of parents can't use that information objectively. That's why at older age groups parents use gotsoccer ranks the same way.

Agreed - saying a team is "bad" in unnecessary.
People love ranking and discussions on rankings, that will never change.
I never got the pedestrian 'blindly paying' money argument. What people do with their money is their business. Thankfully, the youth soccer consumer is more informed now than ever. If they make in informed choice and spend their 3K on a club, then go for it. No club is perfect - their is plenty of complaining from parents with kids on clubs all up and down the list.
