Surf and maybe juventus so they can play each other more times as they are the only 2 in their league

Why can't teams go to both? People (not sure if it's parents or kids or both) are starved for games. The cost isn't huge.

Fair number of teams from CT and RI throughout these brackets. Do they know something about MA's plan to open up to out-of-state teams in the next 16 days, or is this just wishful thinking?

I've heard there's some optimism about MA adding a lot of states to their list of who's "safe," but unless MA changes how it defines "lower risk states," teams from RI might be out of luck.

"average daily cases per 100K below 10 AND positive test rate below 5%"

CT teams should be fine, but RI continues to have cases above 10/100K, despite a low positive test rate.

The problem with MA logic is that MA has an average daily case per 100k rate of around 25. This is close to what RI's rate currently is too.

Fair enough at this time. But it has been dropping like a rock. Where will it be in two weeks? Hopefully if the current trends continue will be heading towards 10. Personally thinking it is too optimistic to think the travel restrictions will be lifted in time for the March tournaments but I think it reasonable to think they might open up during the spring season.

Judging by how slowly they've changed restrictions to match actual conditions so far, I wouldn't bet any out of state teams will be allowed before April, regardless of what the numbers say. There are currently at least a dozen states that fall into the MA guidelines for "low risk," but they still only have HI and ND on their official list (even though ND has gone up above 10/100K again).

Phase 4 here we come! Good news-

                        https://www.boston.com/news/coronavi...opening-update

Bad news is it doesn't start until March 22 so none of the March tournaments can actually be tournaments (still need to be showcases)

"...large venues that can host over 5,000 people — including Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium, and TD Garden — to reopen with a 12 percent capacity limit."

What the F kind of arbitrary bullsh!t is 12 percent? I swear, there is no limit to how much politicians will try to clown us.

Monitor hospital data to get a real feel for where this is going. Hospitalizations dropping dramatically. Vaccinated health care workers are not getting sick OR testing positive. 75% of assisted living/nursing home residents vaccinated. 50% of Americans over the age of 65 have received at least first done. JNJ will be approved within 72 hours. Expect updates to tournaments and league play as we get closer to April 1. Interstate travel for youth sports will be allowed possibly before league play begins.
