$125 for open tryout? Is this to make money or get the best players?

My jaw dropped when I saw the $125. MLS playing to win in pay-to-play . . . monetizing brand in whatever way they can while still putting out a mediocre product on the field.

Will Westside, Eastside, and Washington Timbers stay alliance indefinitely?

Same clubs as the U16/U18 I believe. Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco area. Don't play with any other club and don't play HS when the time comes.

              It's all about the money...

Sounds like the end of the currently dominating U13 teams at ***C, Eastside, and Westside.

I've heard that they get some of the best players, but not sure if they get all of them. I know that they struggle with the "can't play HS" issue as a lot of good players still want to play HS, so they don't go out. It isn't fair to say it's "all about the money", because they do get many top players, but that amount sure does limit the pool for tryouts.

There shouldn't be "try outs" for academy teams. The coaches should be out there watching and listening to club coaches to identify and invite the best players based on how they actually train and play rather than how they show at a try out. There should be way more players who get a look and players should get dropped when it's obvious that they had a good showing but really don't have what it takes to develop into a top player. All of that costs money and foregoes the $125 try out fee so don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen anytime soon.

But then you may end up with players who are uninterested in joining. When you have a tryout, you confirm that the player is interested.

...or you give an appearance that politics is not involved in the player selection....
