DOCs and Coaches think we're dumb

Spring is in the air and DOCs and Coaches are on their best behavior. It's recruiting time where perspective wallets search for greener pastures and clubs are willing to promise you the snake oil you seek.

This is the time of year where a-hole coaches muster up as much self-control as possible to try to undo the ego-driven sins of the season and hope parents will forget how awful they treated their players with the hopes they will sign up for another season of whoop-a. Coaches will put on their sleazy charm through try-outs until you sign on the dotted line. The win at all cost attitude they administered all season will soon be replaced with the need to have fun and let kids be kids. DOCs will say anything they believe you want to hear so they can continue to enjoy their six figure salary while laughing at you the whole time.

The bait is out there with promises of development and a positive soccer experience. It's like the abusive boyfriend/spouse who promises not to hit you again if you don't leave. "It will be different this time around, I promise." So you drop another 2k while they devilishly grin.

Except that it's state cup season, starting next weekend everything goes from "its spring and nothing matters, to winnings
    Is all that matters"

You bring up some good points but you also prove that parents are out of control and should step away from the game .
As parents we should get into the habit of dropping out child off at practice and leaving the premises

You must not have a long drive to practice
