    Bonita Storm

I am a current FL Fire parent seeking options for coming season. Hearing rumors that BYS has linked up with a rec program called the Azzurri.....? Also, what is the deal with all the grievances filed against BYS through FYSA, any updates would be welcomed....sounds like Fire is the only competitive option in Naples i for 2015/16.

It is probably best to avoid Bonita until they get their club figured out. The Azzuri is the Optomist Club. They are probably trying merge with Bonita to get a FYSA number and to salvage the Bonita program. You are stuck with the Fire for true FYSA competitive in Naples.

The best coaches in the area are lined up with Florida Knights, Florida Fire and SWF Adrenaline based upon the age group and not as much as with the club. If you want competitive soccer then look at those three and look carefully based upon age group and not club. I say by age for there is not enough great coaches to go around to these teams and if these teams already have the best coaches then who is going to do the Azzurri Storm.

I wish best of luck to the Azzurri Storm but you have Azzurri coming from Naples Optimist which is a recreational league and joining with the Storm which has been in the press for all the wrong reasons this past year and perhaps years past as well depending upon if you believe what you read.

Doesn't matter the age group, for boys Florida Fire and for Girls Cape Coral Cyclones; year after year the proof are in the results.

Interesting. The Cape has zero teams in the final four (boys or girls) while the Fire has one of each in the final four.

I do not know how anyone can compare the Cape to the Fire.

The Cape is not in the same potential pool of players zone with the Fire nor the same soccer level. It is not even close.

The Cape is in the same potential pool of players with the Knights and perhaps the SWFL Adrenaline. The Cape has been around a long time but the two newer clubs are in a class above it.

No arguement Fire for boys, but for girls the Cyclones edge the Fire out.

              Sweet 16 and beyond:
              Fire 1
Cyclones 2 (one with a good Elite 8 showing)

Congratulations to the Fire U17 Girls, overall the Cyclones have a stronger girls program than that of the Fire, no disrespect to the Fire.

Doesn't matter. Neither team is competing for the same players. Distances are to far never mind traffic during season compounding the commute.

Distance? go ask some of the U17 Fire girls where they come from.

And I'm pretty sure the Fire has a fraction of the player pool that the Cape has. Cape is a huge program geared more towards rec and region cup. But who can blame them, that's where the money is.

Rankings are not a true indication of talent but it is a true indication of competition.
                      U11G
                      Cyclones - 13

                      Cyclones - 23
Fire - 98 or 127 depending on team

                      Cyclones - 8
                      Fire - 23

Some scoff comparing the Cyclone girls program to the Fire and you probably can't go wrong with either but the Cyclones program seems to edge the Fire out.

Both programs and significantly ahead of the F Knights, Adrenaline/Storm?, Strikers, or any new club that pops up every two years.

Rankings mean nothing. Anyone can get a ton of points by playing in bogus tournaments. What matters is how one places in the top tournaments in first division!

The Fire has one team for girls, one. The Cape has a minimum of three strong teams if not more, you can't hang your hat on one team, that is ridiculous.

How so? Win the Adidas Cup and get 200 points, come in 3rd at Jefferson Cup get 2000. That is a lot of "bogus" tournaments for the Cyclones to stay ahead, either the Fire come last at these top tournaments or they don't do any at all.

3rd at Jefferson Cup? Cape wasn't accepted to Jefferson Cup, in any age group, and Fire only sent their U17's and they won it.

Not sure what you are trying to say. Cape has a huge pool of players to choose from and yes have had better results on the girls side. Those teams you are talking about though started with LCS and CFJ. It's not like those players were home-grown.

Cape is the best girls program in Lee County, and FFJ is the best girls program in Collier. FFJ is hands down the best boys program in SWFL. Better?
