Tina would be a cheap good choice. Former Santa Clara grad, WNT pool player.
Good coach, girls like her. Her boss Travis will be fired next year so she should be ready to bolt.

Tiffany Roberts is a long shot. Would have to give her a longer contract and
        150k. 100% sure Portland goes w a woman.

First two listed aren’t in playoffs, why would they be a good hire? Besides being female.

GS has offers out to 8th & 9th graders? Unless they are YNT members, no wonder he got fired.

Needed to justify the $10k/yr at FCPDX somehow.

Boring ass coaches. Perhaps you should just hire mertz from UO.

No one gives a rats or knows about Lauren Hansen or Tina estrada.

Just because someone is an assistant doesn't mean they are good.

Give me a break. Hire someone who knows how to win. Rather then sucking on the coat tails of someone greater.

What transfers? And I love how you toss about names of coaches that you know nothing about and who wouldn't know you if you sat next to them on an airplane. Don't quit your day job. The AD has done a fine job with previous hires and will do so with this one. But feel free to email him your list.

Those FCP players who played for Garrett for years have got to be worried now.

No more than any player on any team when their coaches get fired. Each year players should have the mentality to prove themselves regardless of the situation. Time to prove yourself regardless of the situation. No one is worried. The scholarships of existing players are locked in. No US National pool players or future pro players in the bunch so this is just about the UP education - soccer is just for fun.

Women’s basketball hasn’t worked out. Baseball coming off a bad season, but still have time. Cant say yet whether money maker men’s basketball was a good hire. No doubt a great coach with pedigree and recruiting well, but remains to be seen if that will result in wins. AD better hope basketball wins soon, or he too will be gone.

Players at all programs should be worried, a few excempt. At UP, but also at Oregon and OSU with new recruits coming in and have not been winning with jobs on the line. Players at Stanford and UCLA will be worried with more national team players showing up to take their position. Everyone worry!!

Yes....you are right. MOST coaches are mediocre or worse and get fired after 5 years.

                              In most cases, true.

However, the relationship between FC and UP is long-lasting. UP's legendary coach founded the youth club, and the university seems to be fond of players from said club.

At some point, a new head coach might decide to cast a wider net.

How soon will they announce the new coach? Couple weeks? Couple months? Longer?
