NE would be lucky to have a .500 if they played in the ACC instead of their silly ass conference.

C'mon Eaglefans. Just allow your friendly, Green Line, Husky's a few minutes in the spotlight. They don't threaten your New England supremacy. These aren't the hungry CT mutts. Them dogs are hungry, aggressive and ready to rip you up.

In the CAA, BC lost to #5 ranked W&M and barely beat #4 ranked James Madison in OT. Let's agree both teams would be eaten alive by real ACC teams. In your case, you were.

BC also lost to 6th place Harvard from the Ivy League.

OK. OK. I give. I admit my beloved Eagles had a few tough games this year. Ok. All year. They lost to lower level teams that even I had a hard time concocting excuses to explain. No need to kick us when we're down. Let's wait until next year.

Yeah, that may have been the worst loss of the season. Not even a strong team for Harvard.

The awesome, amazing, top ranked ACC has one team left in final 8 (Duke), same as the Ivy League. Pretty disappointing.

Here is the local ACC response to anti-ACC rhetoric. "Such an idiotic take. These teams dont play the same schedule. Its SINGLE elimination. to think we have parity because there are varied conferences in the eltie 8 is so dumb. All it tells you is that the brackets are well put together. UVa a 3 played Pepperdine ( higher ranked) and then UCLA ( higher ranked ) in California. Destroyed Pepperdine with as one sided a game as you will see between two top 12 teams and then lost to a very good UCLA team in the 89th minute after a dubious red card and a blatant offside goal. Does that mean they are worse than Penn State? Of course not. FSU had to go to Stanford and lost to the better team. They had a spotty season, but again, bit harder than beating WSU . these takes are idiotic. Baylor vs ND. I would fancy many teams before those 2.

People who draw conclusions on teams from single elimination events with seeding and draws are not paying attention.

All this yapping about conferences is nauseating, becasue they are all just teams. ACC has many good ones. No great ones this year."

Short hand. ACC still best. Though down a bit this year still tough to judge true greatness in knock out tourney. Only dumb people who don't pay close attention don't realize ACC superiority.

so the ACC had what 4/5 of the last 16 teams and your take is they are NOT a better conference than most? Idiotic. USC lost to Baylor ffs.

They are still one of the better conferences. They are no longer THE conference. That is over.

Nor is the PAC for that matter. So what’s your point? College soccer is going big time so the gulf between the top teams is actually very slight. That will never mean a team like Princeton can’t have a magical season but that doesn’t also mean that the Ivy is now a power conference. The gap between the top teams and even the middle of the road teams in the top 100 is growing which is going to make the road for any future Cinderella teams much harder.

My point is they ARE a great conference. Just maybe not as super duper as the Eagle shills contend. Amazing fun when they twist their tail feathers all in knots trying to convince us of their daughter, team and league superiority over the rest of us heathens.

Im not an Eagle shill. BC are not in the conversation and simply attach ACC to their name like its a badge of legitimacy. Its not . Play on the field is. BC need to sustain relevance in that conference for the next 5 years to even be considered alongside the team,s we are discussing. So when people say the gap is closing, why is it widening in the ACC for BC ?

If the point of all this is to say there are many teams in mid level conferences as good as or better than BC, then the answer is YES , there are.

what constitutes THE conference ? Pac-12 have always been good. Those 2 are better than the rest and still are. Irrespective of who wins the CCup. Look at Wake and NC state. both had really solid seasons.

My point is that the PAC 12, BIG 10, SEC, ACC, and BIG 12 are becoming the power conferences as this sport becomes more national. Who is best will vary year to year, and depending on your definition. Conferences like the Ivy and AAC are improving and will form the second tier along with the Big East and others. No one conference will dominate any more.
