None of the PSA coaches played professionally, to what level can they raise your child? College?

And, all they do is scream their heads off and beg for foul calls...a parent coach can do that!

Let's get back to the fact that they won't play your child if he / she misses a practice. Don't they realize the level they are playing is not academy? That's what you meant by rules.

The kids at PSA all play other sports, they are not committed. Which is OK!!! Don't pretend that PSA is something its not.

    It's a joke!

PSA is completely irrelevant in the landscape of youth soccer. It’s a cash cow for JN and purely a feeder for STA now. You are basically playing on a team until STA need players and then your team will blow up.

The absolute worst thing about PSA is that they hired that fraud DM after CSA had no further use for him. Keep your kid away from an organization like PSA that would give the DOC role to an unqualified HACK like DM. You hit the nail on the head....”parent coach” because that is all that DM is and ever was and ever will be. He feeds on suckers that don’t know anything about soccer and his #1 priority is to line his pockets with their money.

Continue to hear PSA is growing and expanding, attracting top talent etc, if the above feedback is true how is that happening? Misinformed parents or just false advertising?

You are correct as far as level of play and in some instances NL is even higher. What the anti-ECNL crowd continues to fail to realize is that college coaches like dealing with ECNL. They like the showcases, they like dealing with cohesive clubs where they're familiar with the individual DOCs/coaches, they're confident that they know what they're getting, etc. So much of this is political.

PSA is growing by acquisition, and putting the players into a "National" team that has done what? Won no National titles last year?

PSA is NOT growing organically. They acquired SFDC, Wildcats, Sportika, and before that, landed in 3 territories including Green Brook and Montclair, to do what? Gather more kids for 1 strong team.

If PSA developed players, and focused on player development as a primary goal, they wouldn't need to make those acquisitions outside of their territory. Through acquisitions, PSA is telling you that your kids are NOT good enough to compete at the HIGHEST level of competition or win a National Championship.

Totally agree, PSA is a scam. Their coaches last 1 season. Their coaches look for size, not ability.

By that logic, then PDA, Rush, Cedar Stars, NY Red Bulls, Lehigh Valley United, Liverpool of America, the Barceolna US Academies, Scott Gallagher, Etc and (STA & Match Fit) (yes I get the relationship) are all guilty of the same thing, growing by acquisition or merging. Who on Earth said there are NJ soccer "territories", is this pro wrestling in 80s? Its a similar inane argument that ECNL and DA league shouldn't grow or expand to compete for customers.

These businesses like PSA and other soccer clubs are positioning themselves to attract customers and make enough oney so that they can withstand not being in a DA/ECNL league or have enough monetary clout to force entry into said leagues.

First, PSA is NOT an academy!!! They are a LOCAL TOWN club. And, for PSA to be able to grow by acquisition, they did it by grossly overcharging the local, recreational and travel participant, who might be playing soccer for fun.

Those examples you provided, they are MOSTLY, already academies. They compete with each other. I understand their growth objectives that may involve branching out or creating new satellites such as PDA from Somerset to Hamilton, and prior that, Jersey Shore.

There is a difference and you compared Apples to Oranges!

Maybe PSA should just tell everyone involved with them that they aspire to be an academy, then their participants will know where the money is going. Parents can make decisions on what's best for their kids.

Right now, PSA's focus is on growing their club, whatever that vision is. PSA's focus is NOT on player development, or fostering an appreciation for the game.

Might they go after CSA Monmouth as well?? Worried that could happen given the recent acquisition trend Wildcats, Sportika etc...if that happens DM and Co be back....

Unlikely as there is a DA program involved & perhaps the Capelli Sports Complex. Would a DA program come with the CSA franchise sale? doubtful. I don't think the DA is transferable in a sale. Also, what is Capelli Sports Complex getting on with CSA? The club and facility are not always the same and can sometimes turn into nasty tennant/landlord squabbles that can kill a club....see FC Sportika & Sportika Sports.

The reality is everything is for sale at the right price and CSA Monmouth might not be bringing in that much revenue so they could be ripe for a sale. I think unlikely but certainly possible.
