No, they are not. A few of the age groups have performed poorly but the other half have had close competitive games. The 01s, 05s, and 06s have struggled. The 05’s improved a bit. The 07s, 04s and 03s have done well for the most part.

How did the 05’s go from losing 9-0 the first time to 2-1, two weeks later? New players? That doesn’t happen.

The first Tophat game was just a poor game. They didn’t come together and play well. The second game they were just better all around. The 05’s are a mostly new team. It’s a work in progress.

Don't feel bad. My daughter was playing with a club in the Southeast that was doing just fine in the NPL league, and then our club moved to DPL with lots of promises. We were fooled, too, but fortunately she was able to picked up by an ECNL club with lots of exposure. College coaches even show up to regular season games. Just get through the season (even if you need to change before the spring) and everything should be okay.

What’s all the talk about being fooled? Not one kid turned down Prime ECNL to go to DPL. ECNL is a better league than DPL, it’s not even close. For people on this team, their choice was a prime second team or a Weston second team. The fair comparison is against that team, not ECNL. And if you are honest with yourself, how much college recruiting did you really expect at a second tier league in the middle of college season.

DA and ECNL are the top leagues. Everything else is well under that.

AMEN! Not a story...very true! As a matter of fact, the 03 team that we left is currently dominating the DPL Southeast. Had a fluke goal that cost them their first loss this season this past Sunday, but otherwise DOMINATING! DPL is just not the platform that this caliper of team should be playing in. Our DOC was given information that just did not ring true when it came to the level of competition being offered. This team made it all of the way to the semifinals of the NPL League showcase in Colorado this past July, losing to who would become the national champs in PKs. Nothing against DPL, but to the point of others in this forum, it is definitely a developmental league, not one that is going to have college coaches lined up to watch. ECNL is the way to go with out a doubt!!!

Thank you. Very disappointed I tell you. Even the new coach we got was sold the DPL lies. Not many options here in Florida. DPL costs just a few buck less than DA, with one less training day, no dedicated fields, playing mediocre teams, with new coaches trying to figure out “what the heck”!! and paying out of pocket for make believe showcases
