My daughter plays in ecnl and was still asked about odp. Go figure.

Not saying it won't be asked in some form, just saying it is not very relevant. If the kid got a chance to be seen by the college and they like how they play what difference does it make?

Although a lot of folks are bashing you about this, it is 100% true. In PA, they take everyone that signs up. Training is a waste of time unless you are average to below average. If you are elite, don't bother. Some very smart parents skip club soccer and just do HS and ODP. That saves a couple thousand dollars a year and their kids still get to play at a little higher than HS level.

They take just about everyone here too it seems.
We will see when they release the teams. Two teams in the younger girl age group is pretty much taking everyone.

A recent article on US Soccer's youth talent identification process -

Part of the article touches on the rejuvenation of ODP as a talent identification tool.

Give me the highlights. I'm not signing up just to read an ODP article.

It's not an ODP article. It is an article on how US Soccer is identifying youth talent. ODP as one tool in the ID process is a minor part of the article.

So then ODP is a very small part? Seems a lot of effort for not much out come.
