Stripping the label of a 'DA' mini Oregon League from 5 oregon local clubs is not worrisome it's actually called returning to reality.

Oregon will fold the Mini DA league u13/14 experiment sooner than later.
It's worrisome for clubs like BSC/NEUnited absolutely or XF/OPFC. Absolutely.
It has been fun seeing Westside at the bottom of the table . . . but seriously glory days, the future is not your strongest subject (stick to ancient history).

Just a news update all of the best westside timbers players have been elevated to the timbers Academy Over the last 7 years. that's why they don't fare as well against the local club teams . While most of the other clubs go untouched for lack of talents
Current events are not your strong suit

But unfortunately not one for the parents I think that was the heart of the discussion parents being forced to drive.

That is so sad... similar argument to people inflating ECNL cost with potential parent travel costs.

I am sure glad the Thorns cover parent travel to all of the games.

Westside is at the bottom of the 05DA table? Only if you turn the table over.

You also have the Westside 06 and 07 teams, which aren't doing so hot and don't have the excuse of being decimated by TA

Check Timbers DA roster at 06 and 07 to see who was taken from local clubs.

I must give props to WST their 00, 01, 02, 03 and 04 teams are all in the top 2 or 3 of the state, even after the TA took all the top guns year after year.

                Amazing.

Several WT 06s at DA, though one of them never played 06 at Westside. At least one 07 should be a strong candidate for TA next year.

After a while, TA does send a lot of them back--I expect the 05 state cup race next year to be once again dominated by Westside and FC as the "reverse rapture" occurs. FC is struggling this year, but were they once again to have GM or RF along side AP, they would become again a dangerous team. Of course, if Westside were to get back THEIR TA contributions, on top of the new talent that Westside has developed over the past year and a half.... should be interesting.

As well as players (several previous club players) that choose not to go back and always were starters for TA. It is problematic to some teams as people get upset when the players want to come back. Sometimes a coach tells the kid that (s)he will have to wait until the following year's tryouts as the roster is full.

It's always a problem if TA cuts players mid-season; apparently a few TA U15s were cut around September this past year--meaning it was too late, in most cases, for them to try out for their HS teams. Most coaches would agree with you concerning adding players mid-season; if that means you have to cut or demote someone, you shouldn't do it. (If a player is feeling to keep up with his teammates; perhaps that decision should be made, but it should be done separately rather than waiting for someone better to come along).

TA 06 roster has only 2 WT's listed. In terms of the 07 who is a strong candidate for TA, I assume you are talking about the one who plays for the WT 06 DA team?

That would be the one. Overall, WT's 07 class isn't that strong (some years are better than others; the club has a very good 08 and 09 class), but that one player has a lot of potential, and has one of the best soccer brains I've ever seen on a kid that age.
