Don't know anything about boy's DA, but on the girl's side it has been irrelevant long before National DA which just happened last year.

It was such a great experience that several of the top clubs dropped out of DA on the girls side.

Oregon clubs will never be invited or even have a chance to be selected for the Boys or Girls National DA platform. We are so bad at a club level, we can't even turn it down.

DA is similar to ODP it’s the highest platform for youth & professional club competition at the HS ages in the states. Unlike HS rec & local Hs club soccer it’s very exclusive and in Oregon it’s only offered buy Timbers MLS club (boys) & Thorns NWSL club (girls). nowadays on an invite only, trial to see if you have what it takes.

No worries during the off season of HS in Oregon you can play for the local neighborhood club in any league the club decides to join, US Club, USYS, OYSA, AYSO or parks and recreation. The DA has no club From Oregon accepted or considered outside of the scrimmage little DA where 5 Oregon Clubs play themselves as pre teens, then when HS comes they lose the silly DA scrimmage moniker. Kind of a mess as you could guess.

Rec HS and Rec club are great avenues for 99.9 percent of those not selected for the DA.

The DA was created by US Soccer in 2007 and has held the place as the top level of competition and development for over a decade.

That is all great but the DA teams here doesn't even have enough to field a team and nobody gets cut. Sounds like a top league alright. And top talent. That must be why everybody left to play the rec club ball. Think about that....

Thorns is highly subsidized and they still have problems getting top talent.

If they charged the real cost would anybody play Thorns DA?

Thorns is about $4,000.00 per year. The competition level is average and no high school.

ECNL is much higher level competition but about 5-6k per year.

If you can’t afford ECNL then maybe thorns is ok fit. The playing time guarantee is a bonus for thorns.

Even with HS soccer there is a range in level of play. Not all HS play is the same and some don't want to play HS.

Almost has been a foregone conclusion since late August. I have NOT seen something this dominant in HS sports in a long, long time.
Jesuit basically steamrolled EVERYONE they played this year. Yes, a couple of times the girls broke out a sweat but I bet Jesuit's practices were tougher than 95% of their season games.

Too bad....Not good for the entirety of the sport when one school is that dominant.....defeating and demoralizing.

Moutainside, Clackamas, and West Linn all have good teams.

All 3 teams have mostly club players and arguably as much talent as Jesuit.

Jesuit has yet to play West Linn and played the other 2 schools early in the season.
