I don't think it is this at all. I think it is the fact that no one cares about BU. Period. So you come on a thread, expecting to hear about exciting D1 soccer, and you get banter about a mediocre school and team.

this is a mass board. It is mostly duscussion about NE teams. BU is one of them and has a great history in its graduates, alumnae, sports/soccer and school. Not every team in area is great or even good every year. But we try to support them. Or we should.

There was no chance the NCAA would allow Princeton to host a game on the horrible turf field they used all year. Their grass field was unplayable.
Northeast teams all got bad draws.
BU having to get in a plane.
BC getting a very good Hofstra team
CCSU getting Georgetown? They are not in the bottom 4 teams in the tourny!!

Supposedly, Princeton lost any chance of hosting because they would not use the grass field. They had played most of their home games - and all of their Ivy games - on the lacrosse field (turf), once the grass field was ruined around week 4.

OP here. We're going to do both. This is a National sport but we'll spend some time in local teams. They won't be in the tournament for long.

I think BU, BC, and Princeton all have competitive games. Sorry CCSU.

As most folks know who follow the sport Nationally, there are between 5 and 10 teams with any chance of winning this tournament. So I will be fashioning my Elite Eight for review. I invite others to do likewise.

I am confused. This is a d1 thread on Ma board. I dont see another d1 thread on this board as that poster noted. Is there? I see a top 10 NE team.

Is that it? Is that where the locals should go who dont care about all the specifics regarding ucla, usc, etc.

You may do as you wish. That other thread in year's past served as a vehicle to promote BC as queens of New England. Other local teams were scoffed at. As you have seen, most local teams primarily focus on conference play. That takes us to teams throughout the Northeast and even to Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin. To prohibit such discussion seems inappropriate. Suit yourself.

Stanford is easy, although they will need to recover Smith, Davidson, and Maccario or some subset of these players if they want to repeat.
I really liked Texas A&M for a while, but a 4-0 loss to Tennessee convinced me to take the Vols.

I am surprised they dont have both. Cmon princeton, I thought your endowments would cover the expense. Dont tell me einstein estate only specified funds for science.

Could be. I don't see any SEC team who is a real contender this season. But they really messed up the brackets.

I think the Tigers are in the weakest bracket. They will need to play better if they want to win more than 1 game, though.
