No, on the boys side prep schools dominate. Not close. Of course they recruit internationally, so the comparison to public schools is not fair.

Not much, especially since most won't get it until junior or senior year. The rare players who get it earlier than that are standouts that any coach will notice. It's a nice bullet point on the resume and your college program will definitely put it on your biography

Gator also includes academic performance not just sports only.

Gator = parents on knee pads to coach on knee pads.

All-state players are good players. There are better players who don't get the accolade. It's a lot of politics and helps if you have a cute spouse with knee pads and an affinity for the coach.

Then why even make the comment? It’s apples and oranges my friend.

Are the oranges the international students?

All state does not drive or dictate recruitment. However if the player was a baller and wanted to play in college they would already have been recruited or received legit offers to consider. Congrats to any kid getting all state and any other high level award. Politics aside they have had to put in the hard work and effort to be an impact player in HS. On any other platform other than HS colleges know who the legit players are who they consider recruiting.

Yes, the kids that commit early are the ones being recruited. Once you move into Junior/Senior years without an offer, that player is just trying to find a home. Not much politics being recruited, have to a player or else they aren’t generally wasting a spot as a favor. Trying to win and not get fired.

This is absolutely not true on the boys side. Super, super studs commit winter/spring of junior year, and D1 recruiting definitely continues into senior year.

And the girls is moving closer to that timetable thanks to new recruiting rules. It's still earlier than boys but plenty of junior females are only just now solidifying their spots.
That said, an all state award won't matter much to college coaches. They either see what they want on the field, or not.

And those two teams were the best in LL and arguably the best in the state. Face it, FCIAC parents’ bloated perception of their charmed kids’ soccer prowess is just that, bloated.

                            Hmm....
5 State Titles for a team in last 10 years in both boys and girls soccer...
                            Hint: not an FCIAC school

given DA has had corner on market for boys talent for years, with girls what you see on field outside of HS soccer is what you get...be the star all you want in HS but not likely for most to get you far for college placement....given current strength of national pipelines of ECNL and DA it is rarity to find a player outside of either make it to a D1 school or soccer career beyond... debating girls HS all state awards and bragging on this site as OP suggested as a predictor of college placement is pointless...I know some of these teams who are loaded with all state players and same players could not cut it at D1, D2 or even D3 depending upon program...stay tuned it will be interesting to see the "lists" the elite clubs (you know who you are) come up with this year or next for their players placements.. real talent on girls side has already been picked up..all others just chasing at this stage so best to be realistic about the program as will be right for their skill and level of play
