Maybe the parents were willfully ignoring the rules or maybe they didn't know. But the club knew the rules, they all do. Legally they're not obligated but it's just the right thing to do.
Wait, the rules are not club soccer rules. Why is any of it on them? Why can't the high school coaches say you may not participate in any other soccer from August 20th until November 15th, period. Again, these are high school rules not club rules .... clubs have NO RESPONSIBILITY. If you as a parent are concerned with this then you should contact your HS coach, AD, or the CIAC and find out for yourselves. Again, no club cares, nor should they.

The fact that they don't care speaks volume about them being scum bags. Wouldn't expect anything less from Stokoe

FSA has plenty of high school coaches that know the rules. The coaches know which high schools are still playing.
They still are not club soccer rules so who cares from a club perspective. I thought SS gave a great warning there ..... be forewarned that the rules do not apply to us and that we don't care ..... we are not looking out for these rules, so do not assume we are. It is on YOU!

It's just the right thing to do. If you think otherwise you must be with a club.

My kids play club soccer and I recognize that it is not their responsibility to know or enforce other people's rules. Is CT or the US responsible to educate you about all of the laws of foreign countries when you travel to the middle east or anywhere else?

You do realize this is a very simple task right? Clubs tell their HS bound kids at the end of 8th grade - "Good luck trying out for your HS teams Do not set foot onto our fields until your HS season, even JV, is finished. If you don't your team could be penalized and ousted from competition." It doesn't require a half an hour power point presentation. If a player that isn't finished yet shows up the club just tells them to go home. Pretty simple. Some families will ignore the rules so a club can teach a lesson by not encouraging it. Not legally obligated of course, but as someone said it's just the right thing to do.

If you do and play early or late for us (within the confines of the HS season), the schools get in trouble, but we do not. The moral of the story was, we (as a club) do not care, it does not concern nor affect us, so it is on you and your parents and your school, your HS coach and AD to make sure that you do not violate the rules of the CIAC.

Or the sneaky ones (like you) who pretend they don’t talk to the coach before every practice but do it by phone and email instead. Who are you trying to fool?
