Penn and San Jose tied each other so clearly that was a more balanced and worthwhile match. The OW tie was against a team that finished 7th in their region. The NE region is poor and is only going downhill with Albertson and Seacoast joining. Beating up basement dwellers doesn't mean you're playing good soccer, except to OW families.
Wow--that's a lot of details for a person not from the club. Maybe you need to be looking at the positives of your own kids experience instead of picking apart the negatives of another club. Why do you care so much about where or what teams another club played? For a bunch of parents that are always talking about playing the strongest competition as a means to improve, it seems to me that OW did that and will be better for it in the long run.
And by the way-not with any of the so called "big three" programs THANKFULLY because based on what is posted here you people would be awful to be around. And before you start in, yes my kid is playing in college and yes she had an amazing experience on the club where she played.

Ow 00s were their last strong team. What's coming, in part a result of GDA h.s. ban, are the Rec. Patrol. Low quality plus the usual garbage coaches means OW are done.

It's not just OW, though, and, surprisingly, not just GDA. FSA's 01s (and 00s) are the best team in the state and probably the region. As they age out, FSA's contributions will more closely mirror what we saw with SoccerPlus.

The next few years are going to be a struggle for CT youth soccer on the girls' side.

I’ve created this thread to allow Matt Cameron and all of parent interns to have a safe place to share your grievances.

Oakwood sent 3 teams to California. They played 9 matches and came away with one win.

        U14

        0-3. Conceded 15 goals and scored 2

        U15

1-2. Managed to score 3 goals but conceded 13 along the the way. Highlight of the week was a 5 goal thrashing at the hands of old friends Penn Fusion

        U16

This is the super team put together by OW will their future superstars playing up. They went 0-3. Games were competitive but 3 losses are 3 losses.

Oakwood leads CT soccer arrogance but that’s about it. You are “All in” last place in your groups!
your wrong the U15 did not win a game 0-2-1. 3 teams - 9 games 1 point!. u15s spent more time at the beach or shopping then they did on the soccer field. more like a free vacation for the coach!

Maybe OW management (and parents) need to stop bragging about a poor showing. #factsmatter

Oakwood had this coming. Their highlight of the year was beating FSA in friendly games.

OW staff are elitist front runners. Many parents lap up the kool aid from them as well. These results speak for themselves. Total embarrassment.

You are all too cruel. This is youth sport. The JV and Rec. kids at OW are punching above their weight. Lacking quality, futness, and decent coaching, they are doing the best they can.

So, how about being just a little more supportive?

Despite all of that they still killed FSA ECNL teams that beat CFC teams which makes them tops in the state I guess. Except for 2 decent teams at CFC currently they arent quality across the board.

Why does any of this matter to any of you?

Is it that important for you to anonymously boast about one club and denigrate all the others?

CFC had the U14,16&17 all finish in the top 3 in the northeast.

Yes we do feel bad for the players. The parents should be a little smarter.

Best FSA had was a #5 slot, another in last. The rest #7 or worse.

CFC vs FSA went 3-1-2 in head to head. One loss to FSA, oddly enough against the U17s who finished 3rd in the region and went 1-1-1 in the nationals A bracket. But ask Spain about how one game doesn't go your way.

Anyway, overall OW is definitely better than FSA, but not vs CFC. Outside of the NE OW really struggled. But that's a fate that plagues most CT teams. It's fun to see who is best in state but nationally CT is small change.

But when it mattered FSA did better than CFC on the national stage.

You are embarrassing yourself. FSA only sent one team to Champions.

Winning the North American Cup is a soccer vacation. The best 32 teams in the country played in the real event.

No OW definitely not better than FSA and it appears OW's demise will come sooner than most predicted. OW is trapped. They're stuck in the weakest GDA region in the country within a second tier National league that's floundering. The quality of players movement is a net negative for them and that will most likely continue as players/parents let reality sink in. Either OW will fold soon or US soccer will force a change but OW and the NE GDA can't continue in this fashion.
