They are reigning LL champs after going to finals three years in a row and have more fciac championships than any team except Wilton, who hasn’t won an fciac title in 12 years now.
Twice as many as st joes who we seem to hear about how great they are every year and how many d1 players they have and how many national team and Gatorade player of the years they have.

All that said, I think it is staples year

Stjs senior class has triple the state championships as RHS
But RHS and Staples could both win it

STJ's state championships do show dominance, but dominance at a lesser level. It will be interesting to see how they do in LL

Wilton, Darien and New Canaan won’t challenge for an FCIAC title until the pendulum swings back to soccer rather than lacrosse. Which is pretty much never.

Not a STJ cheerleader but the majority of the FCIAC is LL.

Once in 2013. All other recent runs were L or even M.

Throw SJ in with Taft, Choate, Porters and others that recruit soccer players.

They don’t get big numbers but always have a dozen good level club players.

Keeper graduates no problem just recruit another

Prep schools do their own thing, independent day schools for the most part also. Plus travel from upper CT where most prep schools are is brutal. There aren't enough parochial schools to make up divisions locally. That's why they added the parochial schools in with the publics years back. There was a Catholic league but travel was terrible.

Why not just play by class and no conferences
You are bitching about the 2nd smallest school in a conference that does well not overly dominant but well they go to states based on rules that move them up at least 1 and now 2 divisions higher than pop
                      Stop whining and play better

They move up because they recruit and win. Winning is easier when playing by advantageous rules your competition cannot!

It is the catholic schools that must have whined incessantly to get the ciac to allow them to play against public schools under different rules than the public schools.

Try playing better when you are limited to the kids in your town only!

they dont have a town- thats the point
every school they play is guaranteed kids they arent- thats a disadvantage
people have to write a check- publics dont thats a disadvantage
they have other rules requirements that publics dont that could be seen as a disadvantage
far as i know there is only 1 CIAC rule book that everybody plays by not a separate one for the catholics
again try playing better- again you are bigger, closer, better financed ,and guaranteed bodies
                          cant guarantee you skills

Again, they have town. It is the one they are located in
Please enlighten us as to these "other rules requirements" that publics don't have to abide by and disadvantage catholic schools. And lets not hear about thou shall not recruit.
Yes, there is one only 1 CIAC rule book that everybody plays by. It says catholic schools can draw (recruit) kids from any town, no borders! Public schools are restricted to those kids from within the borders of their town!
Again, try playing with kids from your town only (the town your school is located in). That would guarantee you play on an even footing with all the town schools you play

I understand 7 girls soccer players from Shelton alone going to St. Joseph's for the 9th grade. Losing 7 incoming freshman is tough on any public school program, even a LL program like Shelton. One can only imagine the impact these schools have on other smaller programs and sports in other towns.

That is very unusual. Most of the roster is a kid from here, a kid there. A lot of kids from Shelton are already at St Joes, less so from districts with good schools. I know everyone talks about how they "recruit" but, they have to convince families to walk away from some very good school districts, go to a Catholic school (definitely not for everyone), and write checks. Honestly I'm not even sure why club parents would care - all recruiting is through club activities. HS soccer is a non factor in recruiting and everyone loves to complain about how bad it it is. Sure winning a state cup is a lot of fun and yes JN takes care of his 1-2 studs each year. But to go there hoping he'll take care of you? I don't get it.
