Girls NPL Tryouts in Nassau County

        Good morning fellow soccer parents:

My daughter, U15 next season, is interested in trying out for an NPL team in Nassau County or relatively close thereto. We know Albertson is holding tryouts.
On the East Meadow website, EM announced tryouts for ECNL, etc but not NPL. In addition, EM currently fields girls NPL teams. Are they not holding NPL tryouts for next season?
In addition, are there any other NPL clubs we should consider as alternatives.

        Thank you.

LISC. Girls DA Or EDP Or both?

Saw that LISC posted on the “terrible” website that they are having girls tryouts. One post says for EDP then next one says GDA. The seperate posts Indicate tryouts held at same place and time.
Rumor on some site not sure which one that LISC no longer will be in GDA But instead EDP.
What is going on ? This is confusing. is it one team or two different teams playing in 2 different leagues. Donald Trump

                          2007 Smihtown Girls Tryouts June 11 & 14 at 6pm

Smithtown 2007 Girls are looking for players who want to play travel. We use professional trainers, and 50% play time rule for our teams. So if your daughter is passionate about playing and wants to grow in her soccer career, Smithtown is a great alternative to some of the expensive "academy" teams where some players don't play in games every week. Most of all , they have fun.. remember fun... at 11 years old it is suppose to be fun

Tryouts at the Moriches grass field at 6:00-7:30 on June 11th and 14th. If you are new to Smithtown, try and make both sessions as this give the coaches the best look at your daughter to group her in the right skill level team ( we currently are fielding 3 teams)

contact Nick Pistone at njpistone@gmail.com for more information and to sign you daughter up for the tryouts

Based on the tryout posts and other posts, LISC appears to be trying to set up GDA teams for 2005 (U14) and 2004 (U15) only next year. Additionally, they appear to be indicating there will be girls' teams in EDP for all ages.

They are probably hedging their bets to see what they end up with. They already have thrown in the towel on GDA for the 2 older combined teams. If they don't get the critical mass or quality for the 2 younger teams, they would serve everything better by not trying to do GDA again.

LISC is tainted...very few of the "top" players would ever consider them unless something drastic changes. The GDA itself is a hard sell (especially for the younger ages, when they don't need to specialize in soccer only yet) already, and LISC's track record and organization of it last year was horrible. The only things that might change things to really be something different is if they landed an amazing coach (i.e. a former WNT player, etc.) and/or they competed on price by offering fully (or mostly funded) programs.

At this point, I don't see any evidence of anything changes, and it still feels very disorganized with a "figure it out as we go" approach that plagued last year (during the tryouts and then really throughout most of the year with coaching changes, constant changing rosters, etc.).

Plus, everyone will be done with tryouts before theirs even begins. Can’t imagine them having many kids at their tryouts.
