Pull the article Mr. Narrative.
Boys DA NOT working. NO World Cup Qaulification after 11 years of Boys DA. Kids are cookie cutter and do not play with any toughness needed to compete.
GDA will see many clubs exiting over the next 12-18 months.

1) in the SE US...gda is way more competitive than ECNL. Period....it's not close, watch the games and the collective difference of talent between the leagues is obvious. Sure...there are definitely some ECNL girls that could impact a GDA roster, but the teams as a whole are not as strong. An argument could be made that the 18/19 age groups of ECNL are just as competitive because those players were all ready so far into HS, ECNL that they didn't want to switch.
2) HS soccer in Fl is terrible. There are few stronger teams, but even those would be weak clubs teams. I watched into regionals in person this year and the play is poor. Average club players stand out and look like stars (which I think is a major draw of HS soccer). In more demanding fast paced technical soccer these average players look....average.
3) NO ONE says there is NO VALUE in HS soccer...there's value there for sure, just not in playing competitive technical soccer. The value is in friendships, school pride, school involvement, etc...
I'm sorry that you're jealous of a local club team success in the highest league of girls soccer and feel the need to diminish that success. That must stink to be so pettty and have nothing of your own to hold onto.

You can't point to the lack of qualification as an indictment on the DA system, lol. Seriously???
The DA system is far from perfect and needs to be improved, but the DA system is not why the USMNT failed to qualify...as a matter of fact, most think if we went with a younger roster instead of the tired MLS retreads we would have faired better and played less entitled.
The younger USNT have had moderate success. They've done enough to not be judged as a "failure." They also have had enough set backs to see improvements are still necessary.
Until a true national league / system emerges to continue development of talent and players from the ages of 18-21....US soccer will continue to struggle. That dead zone kills our players. College soccer for men does not continue to develop. Short season. Not high level play. So...,unless young talented players travel to compete over seas, they're done. MLS teams aren't playing the younger players....rather play old internationals.

ECNL is better overall. Girls DA in 5-7 years might be better but at moment overall ECNL is better
