They probably won't be kidnapped, though, which is good.
God forbid your precious iPhone gets stolen - how will you waste your life away reading countless sports articles and not focusing on developing yourself? You can't spend hours on your iPhone wasting away only to realize you have no ability to think in linear fashion? If you don't have an iPhone, you might actually have to think about the real world

Oh, wait. Their poor over-privileged parents couldn't stand not having little Johnny without his iPhone or wifi. How would he ever snapchat his friends? How would his parents ever get to brag about their little soccer miracle without their own social media? His parents are addicted too, but just don't want to admit it
Better to stay here in the safe surroundings of my McMansion, with my spoiled children, consumption-heavy lifestyle and Godless existence...

The OP is correct. Kids are happiest when there are no adults or coaches barking at them...i see it during breaks at ODP or club soccer. the 5 minutes or so they get to just play, just be kids seems so natural...
Why don't we do more of that? Why not tell them at club practice that it is all theirs to do what they wish - 1 hr of free play. You know how much fun they would have?

I laugh at all of these parents who are so focused on college scholarships...i just want to say "and what happens after your soccer robot finishes college?" then what will they do for the next 60 years?
Reality is if these WACKO parents spent half as much time working on their child's math, writing and critical thinking skills as they do at soccer, that child would be a success for life and not a p.o.s. American soccer player

If you DO have a kid playing soccer in MA, why so angry? Different families have their own motivations and goals regarding soccer, yet you seem to think that you're the only one with a healthy perspective. Sure there are delusional parents when little Landon or Mia is scoring lots of u-little goals, but most figure it out reality before too long. Those that don't eventually have to deal with their bad decisions, but you seem to think that this group is 99% of the parents out there. It's not. Man, it must be very hard for you to put up with a world full of inferior beings.
