That was an awful decision by FSA. They will always be the 2nd best ECNL option in CT. FSA could have been the GDA club but missed the opportunity.

Yes, they were looking too short term. Didn't want to water down their ECNL program.

Sure they did. That makes perfect defense. You apply for something that you don't actually want.

USSF came to FSA saw the facility and then saw that they didn't have soccer people in charge. Then they left without extending an offer.

More money to be made with ECNL. GDA teams barely break even. That's why OW is adding more non DA teams

Of course they offered it to OW - they went to current BDA clubs first. They very well may have considered an FSA application but decided not to give them a badge. Proximity isn't just an issue but coaching/staff/track record as well. BS would have been a better option geographically but with no facilities and really no girls program they couldn't get a badge (if they even applied).

So fsa merge with bs is perfect. They can draw from 2 areas of the state, train at both locations, play home games at fsa. No one loses here except OW players

BS really doesn't have a "location" which is part of their problem. If they were to have DA train @ FSA it is a big hike at rush hour for many FC kids (70 miles from New Canaan to Farmington). If they lost FC kids then they have to draw from FSA's area, which overlaps heavily with OW. Neither FSA boys or girls are DA material (for the most part). Why would OW players leave OW to go to FSA?

Better food and fields. Less of the "daddy coaching" philosophy. Still, you're right, in the end, team quality about the same.

FSA boys or girls are DA material? Your best players at OW are former FSA players (boys and girls). 3/4 of OW girls team wouldn't sniff playing time at FSA. Only the wavered kids would.
