01s last year - have not gone through the roster closely but a good number of those kids go way back with the BSC and NEU. Always had some good players at that age-group and it got stronger in the combination.
04s and 05s have benefited a great deal from an infusion of talent from TA and Westside (in the latter case with respect to 04s).
06/07 is little DA coming back into OYSA. It did push down what were historically top east and west teams into first division. However, not sure the DA teams that came in are any less organic then any other clubs.
Did some kids feel displaced? Maybe, although the counter argument is that most kids at that age continue to play with their friends while managing travel time to practice; and it has made it much simpler to place teams correctly (i.e. if you are "east" or "west" you don't play top flight, unless you earn your way into it). The club will have a better view of families' perspective when annual surveys are completed in a couple of weeks.
This fall the club experience significant on-field success on the boys' side across all levels in a way we have not seen before. There have been a number of operational items that could have positively impacted that and the real question is it sustainable; but the recruited narrative is incomplete.
And yes, the girls had a good fall as well although the progress on the boys' side is more noticeable (in prior years would have said the opposite).
Still lots of work to do and league results is far from the clubs primary metric or goal - that is a discussion for another day, including club v. team v. individual goals - but it is "a" metric, even if not "the" metric.
Happy holidays all!
