Why is GPS playing in a Washington League?

There are several theories which have been discussed but here's a summary;
1. Some of the GPS parents/coaches believe they are as good or better than last year. The defectors were toxic and replaceable.
2. Some contest the best talent walked out the door and there's not enough left to be highly competitive anymore.
3. Some argue that MJ is distracted with all of his other responsibilities and not able to devote the time that's needed to this group to keep them ahead of the competition.
4. Some argue that last year's performance was nothing to boast about since GPS could not get games with high caliber competition such as Crossfire Premier, Seattle Reign and the like.

Any other theories?

Well the team clearly lost something because they played awful down at Surf Cup? Only losing 2 really good players doesn't make sense for the poor performance at Surf?

Someone must still be a little scared of GPS or still bitter about previous losses to GPS. If not, this GPS thread would die awa. Same reason I know Academy & Ecnl teams are doing just fine in comparison to other Oregon teams. If not, no one would bother bashing them.

"Others" definitely includes "each other". Academy & Ecnl are probably most scared or bitter about each other. They both are worried about OYSA/GPS though or they wouldn't bother to bash OYSA for being Rec and watered down mediocrity.

OTOH, Eastside girls teams & players used to be bashed on here all the time. Everyone must think they are irrelevant now. Radio silence.

Yes, my theory is that in a few years none of this sad, petty back and forth is going to matter because our kids WILL NOT BE PLAYING CLUB SOCCER any longer and will actually be getting on with their lives. For the 1 or 2 percent who play college soccer and the quarter of a percent who play professionally congrats! Live vicariously while you can, it will be irrelevant in your children's lives so enough.

we should probably actually spend more on breast cancer research. but in 2007, one year, $1.4 billion was used on research. i'm not sure that's how much futbol costs per year. i couldn't find any numbers for just soccer or just girls soccer, though.

PSPL is even lower level than OYSA 2nd division. Seems GPS is really aiming high this year. Of course, winner of this league does qualify for NPL Championships next summer (like what NWCL and OPL champions used to qualify for).

Time & money spent by girls soccer parents has no logic. It's based on dreams of glory for their little girls. It's not the soccer parents spending time & money on breast cancer research and treatment. Not that it's wrong. It's just interesting where our parental concerns are.
