Development academy and the real money grabbers.

There are issues with DA and it's evolving but the claims that USSF doing this to money grab is just plain wrong.

It's actual to prevent unscrupulous from creating and living off huge money grab.

The huge resistance DAP is from programs that have be making excessive profit from youth soccer.

USSF charges nothing for its league.
Large portion of the referee fees are covered.
They give money directly to club via player scholarship.
Playoff costs for the teams are covered by the USSF.

USSF is demanding... coaching education requirements, documentation of coaching, standards of minimum training requirements, club curriculum, yearly inspections.

Many big clubs are unhappy as it's costing them money but if they did not abuse the system before for there own profit the transition would not be so painful but welcome.

Keep your pay to play system but it should not be the pinnacle of youth soccer and the change has already begun and your not going to stop it by claiming USSF is doing what your have been doing all along.

You must be choking on all the kool-aid. But since you must be with OW you're accustomed to it

USSF writes the most interesting stuff on paper .... too bad none of it is enforced.

They give out a lot in scholarship money for kids who can't afford to pay. Payment is made directly to the club

They record all showcase games and give to the clubs

            No referee fees

Clubs get 30 balls per team per year. The real balls ($150+ per)

Nike probably gave them $250k and supplied the balls to be the "Official Ball Supplier of GDAP" ..... more money for bonuses!

Really? You are drooling over free balls? Lower my fees and I will bring my own ball.

The math works out to be fewer than two scholarships per team. Whip-di-fuking-doo. The bulk of their "investment" is USSF staff, not the program itself. Doesn't cost much to video tape games. Free balls from Nike. Call me underwhelmed.

Lots of online criticism on GDA so far. The protective shell beginning to crack on the boys side, especially pay-to-play clubs. USSF interns on high alert.

League fees and tournament fees? How much does USSF charge you vs ED or ECNL showcase fee's. Video does not cost much why doesn't CFC offer it free.

                            Referee fee's?

League fees , tournament fees and referee fees easily add up to 6-10K per team per year.

That's not chump change across all teams.

But all it does is lower the fees somewhat. With the exception of MLS clubs and the token scholarships, DA is pay to play. Fees plus travel are still substantial and is only marginally less expensive than ECNL or NPL. It's still a league for those who can afford to play.
