    ***.

Just tuned in after tuning in all the barrage
of MLB Playoffs, NBA season start, mid season
NFL, NHL season start and mid season college
    football.

    No ****.

USMNT did not qualify for the World Cup.

    Wonder why.

Given the $B’s spent on this sport from
Rec thru Pro, it is incomprehensible we can
    be this incapable.

Most of the billions spent is buy pay to play parents wanting some guy with a foreign accents to turn their kid in to Messi or Mia Hamm.

Money is from the parents not soccer fans. Therefore system is set up to serve that market not make professional who can play in the international level. If anything the ones that actual have the potential are held back to serve the pay to play machine.

            Heiku Friday.

Good job Skippy. At least your point is more clear in this post.

Your numbers are way off as most of that money isn't spent on the USMNT

Save the critique for the men’s side. The women are the defending World Cup Champions. Women’s side is just fine unless US Soccer and their GDAP come in and screws it up like they did on the boys side.

The women are fine in the short term. Many countries are quickly catching up. USSF doesn't want to rest on laurels, but GDA is not the best way to stay ahead of the rest.

Its funny that people are dumb enough to think the women are fine when they are BOTH run by the same people. You are expecting me to believe that the same people have it right for women bit wrong for men ?

Look at teh makeup of the womens team...100 caps are the norm. Limited roster turnover and no longer feared by anyone.

US WNT are far from fine. Look at College soccer. Name the best players. Howe many are US eligible? Fleming? No. Castellanos ? No. we copuld go on. For all the $$ poured by parents and the USSF into the womens game, we are as stagnant as we have ever been. Still capping 30 + yr olds and banking on the likes of Rapinoe, Sauerbrunn, Lloyd, Long, Heath, Morgan, Press etc for 2019 . Poor performances at the U17 and U20 WC.

People analyze the WNT the same way they do club teams. Wins. They dont look at the competition or how we are getting there. Vs the better teams, the US record is not good in recent years. Australia, England, France Netherlands, Sweden, etc are all capable of beating the US and will if we dont start producing better players and letting them play.

The people running the teams from the HC on thru the TD re clueless on many levels and just becasue we have been bailed out by the RoW apathy does not mean we are doing it right.

USSF has "poured" nothing into the women's game; NOTHING! And now they are hoping to steal their thunder, profits, and success and make them unsuccessful, profitless losers like they have done to the men's side. PLEASE! US Soccer has no clue what they are doing and they just bit off another HUGE piece that they are sure to clog their congested windpipe. They should cease operations on the men's side immediately and focus on the women only to assure success in the WC bid ..... they can pick up with the men again in 3 years. You are not going to build a beautiful mansion over the heap of garbage they have created. They need to bring in the heavy equipment, raze the entire heap and start over. Everything, including the babies out with the bathwater.

Clueless. USSF has poured huge sums into WoSo. From infrastructure, to salaries, camps, clinics, coaches, NWSL etc. Its crazy that you think the womens game is built on such a strong foundation. It isnt. The base of the pyramid is parents $$ and actual selection of quality is rarely done until its far too late. The US soccer landscape is not designed to produce excellent players. Its designed to make $$ for all involved in the youth scene. The US have stumbled on players by sheer volumes as opposed to focus AND as the RoW starts to add resources, the illusion of a quality gap has all but disappeared. The US advantages have been all but squandered. People say the RoW has caught up, but the US has helped them by standing pretty still. There is little open competition for places, a system of insular nepotism in both coaching and player selection from youth teams all the way to the top.

Without big changes there, its all going to become clear when its too late to change.

Here's the thing, soccer in the USA is a women's sport. Always will be that way.

Also, Americans dont care about women's sports. Always will be that way.

Best chance? Women's soccer follows Sepp Blatter's advice to wear volleyball shorts.

Yes, big changes like on the boys side .... excellent plan. They have profited so much (I mean accomplished so much).
