How's all that student debt you're racking up feeling like? Debt like that will make it tough to ever get ahead.

What debt? We've got zero. Try another angle for your massive narrative shift.

No doubt. This will set youth soccer back ( on the boys side) for years. What a disgrace. Iceland has less than 1/1000th of our population and is/was (haven’t checked recently) in contention. Our system is broken and DA is not the fix.

I've never heard one kid say he wanted to play for the U.S. Men's National Team. They all want to play college soccer. Every once in a while you get a kid that says he wants to play professionally.

The Development Academy is doing a pretty effective job of getting players exposure to college coaches.

I'm glad to report that the DA is meeting the needs of a majority of the families involved in the system. That it's not what the die hard USMNT fans want is completely irrelevant.
At this rate, there'll be no mens nat'l team

                      Changes to U.S. Soccer:

                      1. Clean house (Gulati and Arena, and many others that are MLS puppets, are gone)

                      2. Hire a true European program development expert to take the President of US Soccer role (e.g. talent from Ajax, Bundelsiga, etc.). We have the resources, spend it

                      3. Hire David Wagner (Huddersfield Town manager) as USMNT coach

                      4. Separate US Soccer from MLS (e.g. no more entanglements with media rights negotiations)

                      5. Lobby NCAA to allow college players to be able to try to make it work in Europe (and get paid), but can come back to U.S. and play college soccer as a fallback if needed

                      6. Eliminate pay to play clubs - why can't we have an AAU type circuit for kids of all socioeconomic background?

                      7. Most importantly, we need to dramatically increase the number of certified coaches - no more dads coaching on the weekends unless it is rec soccer

Just what we need another know nothing hack

[QUOTE]4. Separate US Soccer from MLS (e.g. no more entanglements with media rights negotiations)[QUOTE] Dumb idea. Money has to come from some where. Stopping a revenue stream because lawyers have to do some work is just dumb

                          5. Lobby NCAA to allow college players to be able to try to make it work in Europe (and get paid), but can come back to U.S. and play college soccer as a fallback if needed
Another dumb and useless idea. Do what countless generations of pro athletes have done. Turn pro, make whatever money you can make and then use that salary to pay for an education if you actually need one at that point.

                          6. Eliminate pay to play clubs - why can't we have an AAU type circuit for kids of all socioeconomic background?
You show once again that you are nothing but a dreamer who doesn't actually know the first thing about the sports world. Don't you watch the news? Why was Pitino just fired? The AAU world is nothing but a whorehouse.

                          7. Most importantly, we need to dramatically increase the number of certified coaches - no more dads coaching on the weekends unless it is rec soccer
Certifications don't take the place of actual talent. I know lots of hacks who have lots of licenses. Building useless bureaucracy so people without talent can try to show that they do is just a waste of money.
