They're B teams. That's it. It doesn't cheapen anything. Its not like GDA is adding much value to the landscape either. No one is forcing you to do anything.

One was with a coach she targeted, the other 3 were with coaches that saw her play in a game where they were there to see someone else, but she stood out to them. She's only 14 and honestly, we thought those schools were out of her reach-guess not. 2 Big East, 1ACC and 1 Patriot-each and every one asked if she would be playing at PDA and San Diego and they were all planning to attend both. They also said they would like her to go to their ID clinics-2 offered to waive the fee, the other 2 didn't say anything about it-just to have her coach call and confirm that she was interested in attending before she registered online.
So our experience so far-East Coast schools go to West Coast Showcases, Unsolicited interest really does exist and schools have targeted players they're watching at their ID clinics.
There are 3 reasons why this would not be true. Parents do not easily identify their kids on an anonymous forum:
      - the only decent team other than SUSA is PDA and East Meadow at U15 that would be in PDA/San Diego. So I assume you are EM or PDA White
      - there are probably 2-3 kids on each team that would attract interest
      - there is only one kid on each team that would get multiple call requests from the head coach

Either is is totally fabricated, and based on last years story, or you are a just about asking to expose your kid to other teammates and coaches.

Fabricated = full of sh*t. Just call it like it is.

That is exactly it. Gda, ecnl, ecrl, etc , etc. Whole enterprise is starting to feel like a con game. And you are right...no one has to sign up for it. Maybe less players will sign up.

These teams will not get any more exposure in terms of coaches and may even get less. Wake up people.
            I’m definitely not buying it.

Not OP, but you're delusional if you think this isn't happening for all the teams in this age group. There's close to 100 kids-2004 age that have announced committments already-didn't just happen overnight.

BS. They cannot waive the fee. It is a rules violation.
