It is never threatened and optional. The theme this year is a fun Halloween Soccerathon. It is not different than a local school runnings its Runathon. It is optional but the kids get into participating and raising money for something bigger than themselves. Families and neighbors don't mind kicking in money for their kid to participate in a club-wide or school-wide fundraiser. We'll give to your football $20 coupon card or boyscout popcorn, and you sponsor our kid for the Soccerathon. Florida Elite may want to say 1/3 of the proceeds raised will go to the Bahamas FESA money donation drive, 1/3 back to the player's individual accout, and 1/3 back to the FESA. -
It does need to be marketed in the right way. Print out a form with the information about the Soccerathon and where the donations will go. Attach an envelop and exact instructions for the players. Have the coach give each player the Soccerathon form with collection envelop and highly suggest that they all try to participate small or big and attend the fun Soccerathon and dress up in Halloween costumes. Putting the team managers in charge of distributing the forms means the players will never get them. Garbage is not the word but he ought to be very visible out everywhere even the rec practices shaking hands with the parents. No doubt a shakedown and surely considered for Talent ID when teams are selected at so called "tryouts". FESA is stockpiling cash so it can buy out Bubb's bloated contract when it inevitably comes to that.
