Hand girls soccer will be fine. Their only real competition in division is Guilford and they are also losing a lot from their roster. Hand will be the favorite and make SCC tournament. With no St Joseph in class L, they are capable of making a run in states too. DD is a lot better coach than most other SCC girls teams have.

We will let the folks at Amity, Shelton, Cheshire, Lauralton Hall and Mercy all know that you think Guilford is the only competition Hand faces. Kind of a limited view thinking only of a division. Winning the division is not much of a challenge. Winning the conference is a much bigger task. Hand dodged a big bullet in the SCC tournament last year.

They had to go into OT with Barlow in playoffs. Enough said.

isn't this a boys team thread?

The SCC pretty much changes hands every year. None of these teams have multiple studs so it comes down to who is heavy with seniors. Last year Hand had strong senior class and Cheshire was in the same boat the year prior.

I agree with the post above about all of those schools being in the mix. Lauralton not so much. They were a one trick pony for the last four years.

On the Girls side Hand will be very weak, boys will be strong. Guilford girls only losing 1-2 players they will be strong for next couple of years. Shelton and Mercy will also be strong. Lauralton Hall will be as weak as Madison girls.

Mercy won't even win their division. They lose to Cheshire twice

The SCC Conference is awful for girls soccer anyways. Very few top level club players. Most top players are in FCIAC, SWC and CCC.

Guilford is all kick the ball over the top. They haven't strung a pass together since the Carter administration and a coach that doesn't teach. Hand girls have a coach that doesn't get soccer. Period. Worst hire ever. Mercy has a bunch of fsa kickball. Shelton is the pick here.

Shelton or Cheshire. Guilford has been poor for sure. Hand were solid this year. Back to the boys now. Hand boys willl make another run at states. Good young team and coach!

The SCC is not a soccer conference. Many weak teams that you are forced to play home and away. Lot of padded schedules that don't allow for a competitive schedule. Wish the coaches were not so satisfied with the status quo.
