How about Real Colorado, Eclipse, Concorde Fire, TopHat, Solar Soccer Club, FC Dallas, etc...

US Soccer split the talent by both clubs and individual.

NW conference was not the strongest ECNL conference prior to the DA. They did not magically get better now that Crossfire and Reign are doing DA.

That is why it will be interesting or else the result would have already been decided.

        Really?!

There has been endless chatter on this board about who is better than who and wouldn't it be great if the supposed top teams would just play each other and then it would be known which is the better team/club, etc. So when this DOES happen and one group resoundingly comes out on top, why not share that info? These teams have faced each other in the past and will do so again even this season, but CU seems to be getting stronger and pulling ahead. GDA (locally) seems to have affected FC PDX more than CU. The rest of the season will be interesting to follow.

No club in PDX upper echelon group has ever thumped another like this. Like it or not these are two best girls soccer clubs in PDX and one has clearly moved ahead.

DA is for finding & developing serious candidates for the USWNT. The players with a shot at national teams don't worry about giving up the fun of HS soccer. DA isn't for everyone. It's for the elite soccer first crowd.

If Portland could ever field one top club on age, these teams I believe would become much more success.
Almost all lies. Top players are in ECNL, period. GDA is dying as everyone can see very clearly.

The losses don't necessarily reflect on the club. Some decent players at younger age groups may have chosen OYSA as a cheaper option. No need for big travels at such a young age and with GDA covering travel fees, i could see how some of the younger girls might hold off and then weigh out their options. Of note, that 00 CU team last year that struggled has several players moving on to college. Girls soccer in Oregon is tricky. I do not envy the younger age groups and I think Oregon families should be supportive of one another.

There are also a lot of non elite soccer people doing DA.

"U.S. head coach Mark Carr has called up 24 players, almost all who saw extensive action with the squad during 2017, this cycle’s first year. Twenty of the players come from U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy clubs."

                      Top players are in ECNL

Dude, you are delirious. Most USWNT members played multiple sports in High School. Multi sport is better long term. History proves this.

Elite players? Alas that’s what it should be but let’s do a reality check, how many girls from the state of OR have any realistic chance of making the USWNT?? Perhaps a handful across ALL age groups and I’m being overly generous. Yet you have created entire teams in OR and US Soccer is trying to run an entire national league? Almost ALL of these players will not even get a sniff at a USWNT invite. Unfortunately it turns out, the DA is designed for just about everyone and they’ve completely lost site of their intended objective. It’s just back to the usual of politics and control.

                            This is a stupid thread.

Crossfire and fc Portland both are mediocre and terrible in some ages. Top 10 teams in Washington would smash any of them and they do.

In Oregon both have teams that aren't even top 3 in the state. you literally are comparing two clubs that are failing but swearing they are better

                            04 eastside
                            03 GPS
                            02 wa t
                            01 thorns
                            00 salmon creek

All wipes the floor with cu and Fcp at their age groups.

Just look at what cu and Fcp does when they have to play teams they can't hide from and you'll see that they are getting embarrassed.

Although I don't disagree with you about Multi-sport, times have changed.

Whether you play ECNL or DA, it is not likely that you will have time to play another sport.

The difference is whether you are going to play High School Soccer + ECNL or just DA.

ECNL starts as soon as high school fall season is over, so it is not really practical to play high school basketball and club soccer at the same time. Some kids are able to do track, but those meets are really long so good luck with getting your homework done. Same problem exists for ECNL and DA.

Insulting an anonymous person’s daughter anonymously over the internet is a joke. Now that is pathetic!
