DA split 18/19 division into two divisions

Here are the details. In the east there are several non DA teams in top division. The rest are in lower division including all local teams

OW better get over to Hartford Athletic and hook up....because in the not to distant future there will be a league (likely not called USSDA) that will be formed by all of the pro soccer teams in the country.

OW and BS need a dance partner, or they will be left out.

Anyone notice that St Louis, NCFC and Sacramento are included in upper division. Is that a harbinger of expansion

I think this is stop gap measure to keep MLS clubs in DA, and the clubs will use it to test issues such as travel and competitive level.

USL teams are forming their own youth development league. Perhaps St Louis, NCFC and Sacramento will leave USSF DA and join teams from the rest of USL. Hartford Athletic, as a USL league member, will likely be joining that league as well (once they show that they can survive financially in Hartford).

Tic toc tic toc. The DA is on life support. MLS clubs are doing their own thing which is smart

You missed it. Those cities are the front runners in MLS expansion

You missed it. NCFC (based in Raleigh) is not a front runner for MLS expansion. The three cities are Sacramento, St Louis, and then Charlotte.

Talk about crazy. Look at some of the locations these teams in same division. Crazy amount of travel for sure. Toronto in the central having to travel to Miami and Atlanta? This will definitely crash and burn before the year is up. Not enough players from these teams move to MLS clubs and most want to go to college. I bet DA will soon ask these players to forgo college in addition to highschool.

They should institute relegation promotion at this level to see how it would work.

that's just designed to weed out programs at the lower levels. we didn't have to pay for any of the travel expenses when our kid played for red bulls, unless of course we wanted to go with him.

Its really funny that they call them top and lower. They couldn't even come up with some creative names to try and disguise the charade

My mistake. I didn’t realize it was Raleigh based. The city of Charlotte will get a MLS team.

Still point about Sactown and STL relevant. Why are the included with MLS teams.

Sac and STL are included because they are pro soccer teams with a youth academy underneath (as should be the case for all pro soccer teams in the USA). They applied for admission to the DA and were admitted. Pretty straight forward.

However, now that the USL is launching their own league you may see some USL teams move their academies to the play there instead of sticking in the DA league. Just speculating.

So it seems that Crossfire Premier (Seattle) will play Albion SC (San Diego) in the new divisional format. They are 1,255 miles apart. Good luck with that......Also, Toronto going to play at Inter Miami in league play which is 1450 miles apart. Really?
