    NW ECNL Girls

Who are the top teams at each age group? Any good rivalries back from the RCL days?

Keep in mind that the new clubs admitted last year were placed in the lower showcase groupings, so played against lower level existing teams at national events, so their rank may be over inflated. XF 03 also was ranked at the bottom from the previous year, so also played lower level ecnl teams at the national event showcases.

      Just adding for context...

Most of XF's best players were in DA last year, but will be in ECNL next year. Their teams will likely be at the top of most if not all age groups in the Seattle area, but it would be surprising if many of the Seattle-area ECNL teams are nationally competitive given the large number of ecnl and da teams in the area now.

It is safe to say that the WPFC 01/02 team will be tops again. They return all but one their starters and both goalies from the 00/01 team that finished in first.

Xfire should be returning towards the upper half of all age brackets though. Hopefully some of these other clubs will follow suit and start subsidizing some of their teams.

At the end of the day, the Oregon teams will win all the divisions and they are consolidating all the talent to 2 or 3 clubs where the Washington teams are sharing amongst 6 or 7 teams. The current standings already reflect it. Now Washington is adding a couple of more teams.

Is a ECNL regional league next?

A quick scan across the results link highlights some interesting patterns. Notably the Pac teams are getting blown out in games at U13 and U14 but then are placing 1st to 3rd at the older years. I wonder if that is due to DA pulling kids out of XF/SU/WPFC at the older years. It will be interesting to see how Pac places after DA kids come back and Eastside is added.

Seattle United ECNL 04s played against the Crossfire ECNL 04s today at the XF Challenge.

              Crossfire won 4-1.

Crossfire challenge as another said has a lot of the ECNL teams playing each other. So we'll have a good idea of where the teams stack up after this weekend. Early returns EFC looks like the weakest, Crossfire the strongest
