Supposedly this means more emphasis on the academy producing talent that can contribute at the T2 / Timbers level. Sure.

What about his kid? Since he's an 03 (and thus a minor), I'm assuming he'll move to Ohio with his dad. I hear he knows someone in the FC Cincinnati organization who might be able to get him a spot...

If an academy is focusing on wins and losses, it's focusing on the wrong thing; it should be focused on developing players. Record shouldn't be ignored--you want to see improvement--but a DA league trophy means very little in the long run; more important are players that get to T2 or even the first team.

The academy is in total disrepair. Absolute wankers working in it.
I really hope they bring someone in with an actual clue of how top-level development should work. It doesn't need tinkering on the margins, it needs a full fledged restructuring. I doubt the front office has the interest and resources to pull that off, but I'm open to being proven wrong.

So much negativity around a program that was aimed at youth development, weird. Amazing how many back seat coaches and what not are here on TS. I’m sure you would have done it much much better and of course your son would have been a star.
We keep repeating over and over again the same negativity about the same mistakes. Change won’t just happen, it will come through people actually doing something to make soccer better.
You’ve done what exactly?

Of course you realize the score board determines winners and losers.

The funniest thing is that when they remove the homegrown territories, no top players are going to come to TA anyway because it's a decade behind. And the very small handful of local players with pro potential are going to take advantage of the rule to leave.
