Enough of the Glastonbury bs on a FCIAC post.

Since no one has created a general girls HS discussion thread yet (or a thread for CCC), where else are we supposed to post questions/comments about Glastonbury? This was the most relevant thread that currently exists.

What? I most certainly do know how, but if you ever pay any attention to this board, you'd know that anyone who starts a new thread runs the risk of getting a sarcastic response like "nobody cares" or "how creepy do you have to be to start yet another HS thread". I did not think it was worth that risk. Thus it is clearly better to wait until someone else does and then take it from there.

"Piss off"? Any educated fan of Glastonbury would also enjoy following the FCIAC as well during the regular season because it is obviously a much more competitive league from top to bottom whereas most of Glastonbury's regular season games are usually not competitive (through no fault of their own)....and that's another reason why an overall CCC thread might not be worth starting. The fact is any discussion of the FCIAC is bound to also involve Glastonbury at some point because people want to discuss how they might match up when it comes to the tournament, even now. And since there have been many great games between them in the tourney over the years, what's wrong with that?

Nothing wrong with that. Most ccc teams get crushed by mid table Fciac teams early in the tournament. Even the great Glastonbury has done poorly the last two years. They always get a first rd bye, so they don’t exit as quickly as the rest, but they haven’t been the same since the tsunami of talent that hit during a 4 year stretch.

That statement couldn't be further from the truth. You have no idea! If you had seen the way the community came together for the game that broke the state record win streak three years ago, you'd know what I'm talking about. And those in attendance were humble about that success too, knowing it involved more than just having talented players.

If Staples were to win LL this year and knock out a GHS team that should be stronger than LY along the way, I would gladly congratulate them for such a milestone win and for breaking a long drought without a state title....because after all, Glastonbury endured such a drought themselves. And Staples actually played a part in one of the most memorable games involved in breaking that drought, which will never be forgotten.

How many Ridgefield games have you seen? When they beat us in the semi they straight up crushed us and rarely played it long. With the exception of free kicks.

I watched a semi game when they got bet last year. Fans from Glastonbury were annoying as hell. Whining all game long because they were being pushed off the ball by kids who were stronger than them. They also had poor fitness and it showed as game went on. community jumped on the bandwagon and jumped off just as quick
