You must be new here. This entire thread is about the incredible lengths players and their parents are going to in order to allow little Mia to play for her high school.

You know it's not about the quality or level of HS soccer, right?

Have to respect those high school programs who do not take on GDA players in mid December to start. They understand only one team will win the championship, and they will stand strong with their original crew till death. There is more to high school soccer than trying to win a state championship.

For something that is supposedly so lousy there sure seem to be a decent number of kids trying to break the rules just to play HS soccer. Funny ain't it?

The schools with integrity should be applauded. The ones that take those GDA players late in the season, well, there's that Karma thing.

The high school coaches will learn very quickly which high school coaches are taking on players late and the next year won't schedule matches with them. They have to play each school in the district but the other games are all fluff and fun in the schedule. The coaches will know to get these district games done early and will not schedule many other regular season games after the GDA showcase to help players meet the 10 game requirement. Not sure why high schools need to schedule playing the same teams two or three times in a regular season anyways or to have 25 games or to travel five hours away to play another high school just for fun???? Get in those district games early and a few extra and no way will a GDA player get in their 10 games during a GDA break.

It is so evident to see the high schools who colluded to early on to take GDA players late and made sure to schedule 10 games after the GDA showcase. Not a coincidence in most cases.

There is a way around everything and no GDA Daddy would take the risk of letting Mia fail so it was all prearranged and approved.
The HS coach and the local club might be OK with your collusion, but U.S. Soccer has been very clear that they expect all their academy players to report to their GDA teams when the spring season starts in January.

GDA Daddy might think everything is prearranged, but he will need a new stack of undies when U.S. Soccer finds out that little Mia chose to play for her high school team and deserted her academy team for several weeks.

The GDA club will say the girl had its permission to play high school soccer for its entire period but chose to start high school late in December, therefore perfectly okay to stay with high school through the playoffs. What everyone fails to realize is that GDA players will find a way unless US Soccer is firm and consistent. It must say if a player did not join the high school team until after the GDA regular season then all of those must return to GDA for spring training or risk being cut from GDA. If US Soccer doesn't care about what its players do during the winter break and lets them do high school soccer, does it mean GDA players can go to ODP winter practices or be a discovery player for the ECNL showcase?

Maxpreps shows Oxbridge High School playing the same opponent 3 times over 2 days 1/18-1/19. Is that an error or are we seeing evidence of system-rigging to get 10 games in?

Hey Oxbridge GDA Daddy, are you responsible for this?

U.S. Soccer has already said that. They didn't use the term "cut" but it was implied.

Looks very fishy. You can bet Oxbridge's playoff opponents will demand proof of 10-game participation for everyone on that roster.

Again the player will say they got permission from their GDA club to play the entire high school season from tryouts until the playoffs end, but instead joined the high school team late in mid December after the GDA showcase.

Look closely. GDA players only do high school if it is a winning high school soccer prgram. GDA players don't bother with losing high schools. Also the only high school coaches who bother with GDA players are the ones who have a chance to win the state title. So the bad high schools get worse and the divide gets bigger between the haves and have nots.

                              let me break it down

my girls are 14 and 17, they do ECNL and now GDA, ive been to pretty much every tournament, game etc and have seen every single team (at their age brackets mostly but some other ages too) in Florida, GA and South and North Carolina (also random states during showcases)... but lets stick with Florida

There are maybe 3-4 girls in the entire state (my kids not included) that are amazing , (speed technique, skill, size) All others are good, some better than others but not on another level.

They are good girl soccer players, first touch , awareness , soccer IQ, strong passing etc etc, most GDA girls possess this...

these are basic soccer skills that every soccer player should have, if a GDA player walks into some HS team without trying out or going to practice and takes a spot, whats that really mean?? the other girls are that terrible? imagine the quality of the games !!!

A player needs her GDA club's permission to play HS soccer, but the club can't give permission to stay with the HS team after the start of the spring GDA season. The rules are very clear on this.

The Federation will not look kindly upon players who choose to no-show for the spring season.
