No, there's a 9th grader from YU verbally committed to UCONN too. That's probably out the window. Plays at NDF.

Now you know why it was time for the coach to retire. 9th grade verbal for Uconn........he forget he is not Stanford.

It's all verbal anyway, which comes in handy in situations like this. If she had committed no one would think twice about uncommitting because of a coaching change

Well done Kenny. You pulled the sled, did the work and put 1000 gritty women into this world with a degree and work ethic. You helped so many and prospered, but have back... my sister thrived in your program. Thank you

Moving to the ACC with a good coach and a great facility would boost recruiting tremendously. With that woudl come greater success. The weird American conference is a major negative for most recruits. many top players only consider ACC schools. A move to the ACC, new facility and competent coach and UConn would be in the middle ACC tier before three years with a chance at the top by 5. Your comment is based on what they are now. What they could be is a lot more.
The big question is who gets this job? One of the assistants? A former player? Or the coach mentioned in the thread next to this that has turned the Princeton program around? They need to choose wisely, because everything that was said about UConn eventually sliding into mediocrity when they were left out in the cold during the conference shakeup, has happened.

SD has only been at Princeton a few years and is unlikely to leave while the program is building good momentum. There's loads of candidates out there. They don't have to have a tie to UNCONN or CT at all. That isn't how it works at this level.

you guys are fools if you think they won't hire someone with UCONN ties. It's a must in this situation. He has at least 10 women he has coached that are great coaches today at big time programs, either as assistants or head coaches.

Just don't hire a bloated ego like Ray Reid

The sooner the better. Getting in two strong new caches and the facility sends a strong message about the school's commitment to soccer.
