Pretty clever, USF is up in Michigan playing University of Detroit tonight. Michigan is a hotbed of girls soccer talent and it is probably a recruiting trip first and foremost. Easy to pitch Tampa to those families that are looking for warm weather.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

Interesting. It does always make one wonder when the colleges publish their statistics how they maintain 'diversity' category percentages so perfectly as if it is a science. It will be interesting when Harvard has to display its admissions process to the Supreme Court, and set a precedent for other universities to disclose theirs. Are some universities putting the out-of-state students before qualified in-state students with the same qualifications because the out-of-state students are bringing in more money in tuition fees or another student offers the diversity?Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

They are at several schools out west. They have to prove their heritage first of course. They still have a difficult time because they because many smaller but still costly things aren't covered. Well, UF might be counting on all the in state white people to transfer in later. The white kids I know that got in as Freshman had ridiculous scores. Pretty much all As with honors classes, etc and SAT or ACT well above the UF mean.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post

Two of our daughter's friends got into UF with almost perfect SAT scores and each had over 22 AP classes in high school and then they chose not to go to UF. Another guy friend of hers had almost a perfect SAT score and did not get in. Maybe he didn't have the 4.6 GPA. Who knows with UF but the students it has turned away are going to other very top universities and UF can take the community college transfers in.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment
