Another pathway to the pros, just like Aztec and Breakers. Good move for them. With commitments coming earlier and earlier at FC Stars it adds a new attraction. Only time will tell if it is DAP related.

All this cloak and dagger stuff about who is gaining and who is losing gets very old.

This looks to me like a kick in the nuts for NEFC. Especially after all their gloating about their Breakers deal. Instead of paying Breakers a big chunk of money and building the Breakers brand for them and hurting the NEFC brand at the same time, FC Stars simply started their own professional team.
NEFC has to be feeling a bit embarrassed.
Who has more egg on their face than NEFC?
NOBODY does.

NEFC deal hurts their brand, causes other NEFC teams to pay for Breakers name, so hopefully they get their kids in some DAP league and maybe other teams pay for those select few on those teams too (if subsidized) and the elite players can't play HS soccer either public or private? Who wants that?
NEFC Elite is going to NEFC Deplete! So much for great management. Completely outdone by JD. Has to hurt consider all the Stars bashing that goes on at NEFC. OUCH!

Just so there is no confusion on this, it is WPSL as in P stands for Premier, not professional.
It's a good opportunity for clubs to offer to players who want to play after high school. But look at the stats on how many players get pulled up to a
Pro team. Not the pipeline many want you to imagine it is.
