By necessity, BS appears to have played a more defensive style and with a more defensive shape than usual. In the first half, with the wind, BS was able to see a little of the ball and create a few chances, including a shot off the post and one cleared off the goal line in the same sequence. Against the wind and with a one goal lead, BS could do little more than hang on and defend against the FCD onslaught.

Jokewood 16's tied Bethesda 1-1. They lead their group going into the last day of group play. Congrats!

They have a real shot to advance past the group stage of the playoffs- which would be a first for the club- provided they don't slip up against Real So Cal. Good luck!

OW also plays with the fewest players playing up. That's why their 15/16's teams get to the playoffs and the next year they are embarrassingly bad as 17/18's.

It's directly tied to playing for results only.

So as an outsider trying to keep track, oakwood 18s suck because they didn't make the playoffs, oakwood 16s are a joke because they could advance in a Group with a club like CASL who I heard has about 10,000 kids in their club. Beachside is just lucky with beat fcd because they played defensive. Does that about cover it?

You missed the point. OW plays for the here and now. Just watch how this group starts next year as 17/18's they will get destroyed in the fall then OW will recruit a bunch of RTD kids and drop all the players that they developed to claw back to a .500 season. Rinse and repeat.

Yeah that's about it...
Oakwood 16's are a joke because they won the Northeast Division last year and then lost in the National Semi-Final to FC Dallas 0-1... then went undefeated in the Fall Academy Season... then qualified for the playoffs... then lost 2 starters before the playoffs... then so at the Playoffs have beaten the #6 Academy in the country... then tied the Atlantic Division Champions who are 5 places above Red Bull... I like those jokes ! Can't wait for more in the Fall !
