Yes, per the agreement, they had to take 3 WUP players per age group. There's discussion of this on the Mass board.

Stupid agreement if true. What if there aren't 3 WUP players unworthy?

It worked wonders when they merged with S+!

God I hope not. It would be like being contractually obligated to take 3 kids from CFC sound for every ECNL team. There would be some good players but zero chance that you could find 3 solid kids every year

Yes. Look at how well that worked out ;). Coaches too. But that was more of a true merger vs this WUP agreement.

You're looking at it only as a parent of a daughter. The boys WUP program is very talented and in some groups better than the FSA boys. The merger is a HUGE win for both. The girls side has their own issues and by the records of some of the ECNL teams, the soccer taught there is questionable. Be honest with your response before you hit send!

Only it's not a merger, more a pseudo-pipeline agreement - announcement below. And FSA holds the upper hand in any arrangement, so why would they allow to a set # of WUP players? They'll take players they want from WUP (they already do) but have no reason to have their hands tied either. They stand more to lose ticking off more FSA parents then keeping WUP parents happy.

FSA FC is proud to announce a collaborative partnership between FSA FC and Western United Pioneers (WUP). Players from both clubs will now have the opportunity to participate in leagues, including the Girls and Boys ECNL, that are available through our partnership. As part of our collaboration, the clubs will participate in friendly matches, joint training sessions and other events designed to enhance the experience and development of our players. We are excited to have this valued partnership.
