The hair police are out on TS today. Girls are required tol have long hair - no exceptions. Short hair is against the law.

This is really the craziest story! Abby Wombach tweeted in that nothing should EVER stop her from playing and she did just fine playing with short hair.

Honestly, they should just put her on a boys team rather than playing up 3 years. She will develop much better. She is obviously hugely talented.

As usual, everyone reacts to to the little bit of info provided. All of this crap about the length of hair was stated only by the little girl and her brother. No one else.

Tournament Directors filed their decision with the Nebraska State Soccer Association. They then invited the girl's team to formally appeal the decision.

Now why would a tournament go through the entire process of reviewing a player, disqualifying not just the player, but the entire team, and then file a formal decision with the state's SA? Remember, this is a U9 team at a rec tournament. We're not talking about a national event. And if the tournament directors are so wrong, why did they invite the club to appeal their decision?

Take a step back and look at all of the facts. Hamm, Donovan, and Wambach are just media whores. Free publicity for their business ventures.

I do feel there must be more to the story. Is it against USYS rules for a player to play up three years? Wasn't she 8 playing on an 11 year old team?

I agree with one of the prior posts, rather than having her play up 3 years, she could have played up a year or 2 on a boys team.

Also, why wait for the championship game to protest her and her team's participation?

And to answer someone's question as to why a tournament would "invite" the team to appeal the decision...simply because after you disqualify ANY team or player, that's what you are supposed to do....notify the team or player that they can appeal the decision.

I do think people stir the pot on TS. A person's actions are not always related on their parents actions. I do think our leaders set the tone and the little girl seems very positive about the whole thing. Trump is being divisive at home and abroad. His tweets on the travel ban, our justice system, and he had to criticise the London mayor during a tragic time. Brainless, classless.

You are missing the point about the "invite." You do not file a disqualification unless you know the end result. Appeals are very seldom overturned. And in this particular case, I am positive that the tournament directors knew this would create a story. Most people in youth soccer are retards, but not that dysfunctional. A player and a whole team would not be kicked out because of a player's hair length. Tournament directors are asking the team to prove them wrong. They can't, so they turn to the uber-liberal media and celebrities.
                        Absolutely absurd.

Pot calling the kettle black? You complain about others stirring the pot, but re-read your post. Does it have anything to do with the topic? No. Does it positively contribute to the discussion? No. Are you a fu*king idiot? Yes.

The hypocrisy with this one is strong.

Are you trying to argue that the players is not a girl? She is a girl. Team will have no problem proving this. Your conspiracy theory is stupid.
