The kids that are leaving are good kids and have great parents. The parents helped make OW a better place during their time here. I'm sad to see them move on just like I was with the kids who left last year. Its youth soccer and everyone needs to do what's best for their kids. I see that the two kids who left last year are on the ECNL roster once again, I wish those kids continued success and hope that it works out for the ones departing this season as well.

2015-2016 season
You'll have to admit FSA had the better of CFC in the 2015-2016 season with almost identical records but a one game FSA head to head advantage.
2016-2017 season
CFC wins head to by two games, and three draws. Both CFC wins are 2-1 scores.
Among other ECNL competition CFC leading by 7 wins, FSA by 1 draw (FSA 11-41-15), (CFC 18-33-14) but that is mostly because of the CFC U15 and U16 teams which are clearly better and the only teams that beat FSA by a score of 2-1 head to head. If you dig into the standings you conclude the following:
U14, FSA the better team, much better quality wins/draws than CFC
U15, CFC the better team
U16, CFC the better team,
U17, Slight edge to FSA
U18, Same
There is some light this year between clubs but not by much. Since the start of the 2015 season 364 ECNL games have been played between the clubs and CFC has a 9 win advantage over FSA. Draws are equal. That my friend, is razor thin. To the OPs point, CFC should have a much record over FSA given the demographics advantage they have but they clearly don't.
I can see why S+ failed.

On the other, why waste playing time on someone who won't be there over someone who will?

In theory the CURRENT roster should be the ones you take anywhere - the commitment is through the end of THIS season. But that doesn't mean coaches or clubs act rationally (a few years ago MK at BS famously benched some players who were leaving), or that players want to go knowing they are leaving.
