Look at a good tournament like Jeff Cup, where the top brackets are loaded with NPL, regional and state teams winning and drawing many games against top of the line ECNL teams. Yea, there's overlap, it gets worse when you start digging into those lower brackets where the CT ecnl teams get placed.
Which isn't surprising since nationally CT ECNL teams are mid table at best

CFC has two teams that are among the top 30 ECNL teams in the country in their respective age groups. Hardly mid table. Oakwood is going to have a nice dose of realty next year when they see Penn Fusion and Breakers (remember them!)

Two of six teams for CFC; FSA none. I'd call CT overall mid table. But yes OW is going to struggle - no notable players moved over and OW also wasn't consistently rocking it in NPL.

Good luck to CFC in playoffs. Boys DA teams also. Any team that gets that far deserves a round of applause.

Different poster, but you are similiarly devoid of a clue on how the ecnl works. 6 teams? U18 and u14 nationals are tougher to make, only 16 teams. That said, there are two teams in the northeast that made the u14 and u18 national championship. Pretty impressive competition in the northeast league. So 2 out of the 3 (15, 16 and 17) teams from cfc made the national championship. Can't figure out for the life of me how you got 6 teams.

Seems the op was just talking about overall club performance not just playoffs. Across all their teams (u14 u15 u16 u17 u18 u18/19 - yes that's 6 teams) only two did well. Fsa even worse. The two clubs are always battle for bragging rights but nationally CT is anything but a powerhouse

Well if you are talking 6 teams the 18/19 team did well for cfc

Thanks rocket surgeon! The big metro areas have a multiple of the population that we have. Massive players pools to pick from.

We do ok considering we have three clubs chasing the same 25 kids.

Look at Oakwood's GDA player pools if you want evidence of this market. It's mainly re-tread NPL kids that were competitive in the B league.

Bottom line is that all of the clubs do the best with what they have.

I agree it's watered down in this state with a lot of clubs and a small population. But coaching makes a big difference too.
