The team that won GDA got promoted to ECNL.

The year prior (2017) around 80 clubs got promoted from US Club & USYS to the DA. Slammers club being one of 80 that were accepted in year one.

The slammers 'team' you mention whose entire club left the US Club league/showcase for the DA in 2017 did so to get better competition and development (yes the Slammers Oldest team in 2017-18 did win an actual championship in the USDA. It was pointless playing for nothing in the US CLub end of season travel jamboree.

They(special club team) got what they needed and actually got 'promoted' to college at the end of last year or in a couple cases the NWSL. The more you know doesn't seem to help you, as you are not only clueless but hopeless as well.

So how do we make the GDA teams in Oregon better? It's good to have an option that gives kids guaranteed playing time.

I have two kids that aren't very good. I am very interested if they are guaranteed to get starts. That would be a fun time to see them on the field especially at the opening whistle.

Hire better coaches at clubs, attract kids who can play then send them to the Thorns for evaluation. Real simple.

Until then the NWSL Thorns DA can only hope to get the kids as young as possible and train them.
