There is no "letting go." This is not the same system as in Europe. If you want to join a DA or GDA team, go to the tryout. Call the club's Academy Director and let them know where your regular team is playing. Invite him to watch. It is not so difficult. There is absolutely zero reason for any reasons to merge.

EXCEPT...BU subsidizes its DA and GDA teams with "pre-academy" teams. That program is in complete free fall. People are leaving constantly. No new interest. That could be the possible angle for this supposed meeting. But BU would need to offer something substantial for those other clubs to affiliate. And BU has absolutely nothing to offer.

BK agreement is only for academy players. Players are referred for academy only or encouraged to tryout. If the player doesn't make academy they continue return to their club and profiting sharing between BK and BU are only those players selected to academy not allowed to join BU under "pre-academy". each club runs it's own travel club program.

so it is just like any other team or club if you want to tryout for da you go. Do you think the referral means they are going to make it ? Of course now a few kids from boynton will have to make it on da team every year even if not that good just so that they can say that boynton is a pipeline witch it is not it is a pipe dream at best stupid sucker parents just like all the kids that live in boca and west boynton are gifted and in the gifted programs at school laugh my ass off

re-read nothing about merger just a reference program. each club if established will or can lose 1-4 players. there's a limited number of players that can be roster per age group. A club will not go bankrupt by referring several players that they will receive a sharing profit from, let say half the DA fee. It's a good tool for recruiting giving the local clubs an avenue into DA under the reference program. No merger just working together to get West Palm Beach on the map.

So...it is in the best financial interests of BU to not accept any BK players until after season. They tell the BK player to go to open tryouts, once the BK player contract is no more. Then, no profit sharing.

Same will happen with any other club. This keep BU from having to spend money on scouting. Clubs feed their best players and maybe let them practice with the DA or GDA team. When there is no roster spot available, they return to their club, but BU has their name ready for next season once the current players wake-up and quit.

Come on. Most DOCs are not geniuses, but they are not this stupid.

I'm speaking first hand. I'm sadly in one of those clubs that the club created training on DA tryout days to avoid us from trying out. We never train on the weekends and then suddenly we were told we have to train and missed the DA tryouts.

once again greed. BK had a total of 9 players ranging from U12 to U16 in BU. If BK is going under because of 9 players then overall the club has bigger issues to worry about especially when the majority were 4 to the U12 Academy team.

based on your statement 9 players is $17k. Under the "profit sharing" BK only received $8.5K how is that a win?

                        1. Each team just lost their best players, meaning the remaining team is not nearly as good as it was frustrating all the remaining parents.

                        2. The remaining parents say why was my kid not chosen.

                        3. And then those parents look for a new landing spot where hope abounds

Do you think BK didn't find 9 new players to fill that roster and gain the $17K plus $8.5K from BU, that sound like a win-win to me for BK. BK turns down players due to limited roster yearly as most clubs do. BK accepted new players, it's the life of soccer, and develop new players and so on. Now BK has two revenue platforms DA and club fees. New players are eyeing the DA and use BK as a launching pad. So who's the dummy now LOLOLOLOLOL! Just schooled you on how to run a club 101.

I know that Sunrise pulled that last weekend and something similar is being done around the FC Prime tryouts. But even stupid BU scheduled the tryouts when its own pre-academy teams had games scheduled at their home fields. Those games were cancelled to make field space. That shows you the level of planning at the club.

What club are you with that is pulling such a nasty move?
